About time the AFL got something like this up and running.

The gentleman who has provided all the historical data that is helping out the Blueseum works with the stats guys at the AFL, they have been compiling lists of all the players. I've cross-checked some data and it looks like it is his data that is most likely behind this as well.

Hey Jarusa, is there a way that those tables can be brought in to the Blueseum easily? If the format is consistent each year could have a link to a player list. We would still have to link the players names in the tables to the bio, and probably still manually do the Locker Room and Squad Locker Room, but is this transferable?

Where do you reckon the yearly playing list could go?

On each yearly summary?

If so, I will put it on my to-do list.

Juzz, all along i've seen my job as doing the crap that no one else would be interested in. Thats why Cranage, Doering, Camporeale, O'Reilly, Mansfield and even Lindsay Smith have been done before the greats like Kernahan.

There was an old article on the AFL website about the 1916 season, because of the start of the war. It's not linked anymore, but I found it on Google's cache, and it had details of the season including the details of the finals. From this I managed to put together the match reviews for the finals and also get goal kickers, best players, etc....

That'd be from The Encylopedia of VFL/AFL Finals. I've got the 2002 edition - it's a bloody great book for stuff like that.

Agree that the 'to do' list should be up to date on the Blueseum itself, but I reckon it's worth copying here as well. We need all the help we can get, so hopefully copying it here will encourage one or two others to pick a year.

1) can you add the leading goalkicker to the 1921 page (I don't know where those stats come from
2) on both the 1919 and 1921 pages, I've removed the rounds that Carlton had the bye and replaced it with the word "bye", but the formatting at the bottom of both pages needs fixing

Great stuff - have added that i'll do 1932 and 1933 as well.

With the potential to get this accredited with the Club getting closer all the time, I would again ask anyone with an hour spare to do a year. You never know what you may find.

Also, those that have agreed to do a year, please have a think about when you can get it done. The sooner all 110 years or so are in the Blueseum, the sooner the real researchers like steve, Jarusa, halford and others can get into the great stuff of finals stories, scandal and heroes.
