Do Essendon** play 2 rucks? Or is it usually Draper & Wright

Was wondering the same thing. If it's just Draper with Wright pinch hitting, can't Young just follow him into the ruck.
Draper has only kicked 2 or 3 goals this season so don't see him as much of a forward threat.

Philips/ Draper wax the ruck

Wright is the KPF

McKay back helps so much. I expect now that Silvagni can help TDK more, Cripps will be back to his best and our midfield to dominate

At the moment I think we are only missing Weitering, Pittonet, Williams who are genuine Best 22

McGovern genuine intercept mark and was in our best 22 (but Marchbank may have that role if he can stay fit)

Cuningham genuine great player when fit and firing. Pace to burn.

But the 2 Key posts in our best 22, are Weitering and Pitto.

That’s a very good side that should win and win well

if Walsh does play on the wing this week (as he did early in his afl career) then that’s one genuine star quality winger we have in the squad. we’ve been cycling through a bunch of not so good wingers this season. how sidebottom was left to run unmarked into the forward 40m for pies and to waltz out of our D30 i don’t know but if Cottrol was them his direct opponent he needs to tighten up his D game a lot. he has some decent run down tackles to his name this season but too loose on direct opponents.

What about Philips?

What about Jones? 196cm

Druggies have ample talls back and forward, but their backs will have their handful with Jack/TDK, Harry and Charlie

Our boys are coming off a loss; a painfull loss.
Falling to 7th on the ladder. That must hurt.

With that violent thug Sheedy back in the fold mouthing off, I expect him to encourage the biff.

I expect Draper to target and maim TDK.
They know if TDK's out of the way, licking his wounds, Cripps is taken away from the fall of the ball from the ruck contest because he will be rucking.

I hope TDK is aware of some of the tactics he can expect from the thug Draper.
Draper hasn't been in good form, and that's when he's most dangerous because he knows he has to bring something to the table...and with Sheeds in his ear...

Have to be bigger than the shit they will dish out....a MUST win.

dons haven’t changed much in this regard since i was a kid. my dad and uncles all went for dons but i watched games and thought they were thugs and went for blues instead mainly for that reason. then a couple of years later robert walls came to be a teacher at my primary school. gréât confirmation of the correct decision made. sorry dad.

Whilst Sidebottom was Cottrell's opponent, you have to see the work Cottrell was doing (in defense) when sidey was on his own, before you blame Cottrell. Our defenders do play a bit loose at times, and on turnover, our mids are not in the backline to lend support.

Have to get better in all areas, including Cottrell.

Philips rucked better than Draper vs Port.
They both had 66% game time.
Were on the bench when they didn't play 3rd Tall Forward

Jones and Wright were the 2 KPF's

Wright didnt hit the scoreboard and Jones kicked 1.1

Philips kicked a goal. Draper 0

that’s fair. it wasn’t just sidebottom running and flicking the ball around too easily in our D30/D50. it was more his uncontested marks in F50 with no Cottrell in sight, even on the wide shot showing pies whole forward 60m after he marked it. maybe he ran to intercept some other player but it happened more than once that sidebottom wasn’t under pressure, the way say Cripper’s opponents were. didn’t see as much of hewitt in that game, maybe he was playing a lock down role, hard to tell from the video coverage. kennedy back in is a god send for all the midfield players as he’s such a consistent and hard player this year. leads from the front.

I’ve given my Bomber supporting boss 4 goals in for $20 bottle of red.

if we can’t beat them by 6+ goals we are not top 4 material.

our games vs pies and cheats tend to be unnecessarily close contests! even when we were a bottom of the ladder team.

You're right that Cottrell wasn't completely innocent in all Sidey's easy receives.
I think our mids let us down a few times.

When Cripps took the ruck and sent TDK forward, we wre playing one mid short. Gotta watch out for that against the parasitic Effendopes* midgets

I like....gutsy.

If you win though, you will have so much ammunition in your banter....maybe a pay rise if you promise to keep your conversations about Finals and not say anything about the Review nor the Druggies.

He would be if he kept himself fit and stayed on the park. A fit Marchbank will push him for a spot
