I haven't read the article you're referring to and while there maybe an element of truth, this is what Buckley has to say about Mick…

https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-06-05/ ... upts-again

Quote:
"I'm one of the bodies on the side of the road," Buckley told SEN radio.

"I've got great respect for Mick in some areas. He's always been himself. He's never really cared for what people think of him. Rat cunning, a master manipulator and got success from that and all credit to him …

"Mick and I don't get on.

"He doesn't want to know about me because I'm now an enemy in his eyes, and he will rewrite history to make sure that was always the case.

A hooded cape would really complete Mick's current look.

Are you suggesting those two groups were also in an exhibition match at the time?

Yeah, Mick, it's the board's fault you gutted our senior playing stocks and replaced them with Daisy, Jaksch and Riley

Bet you don't mind the powerbrokers paying you out a handsome sum after destroying the club within an inch of its life.

Sour grapes from a bitter and vindictive egotist. Absolutely ZERO class whatsoever. Take a leaf out of Bolton's book and just go away gracefully FFS.

I know you’re trying to make a point about people holding grudges, but this is a weird thing to say.

Yep. Sounds about right to me.
I was amazed Buckley came out with that and full bloody credit to him for doing so.

Not disrespectful. It's friends having dinner. Up to others not to make something out of nothing.

Lyon is here for the Hall of Fame dinner tonight. SOS and Lyon are good friends so had dinner. Why shouldn't he because flower will take it the wrong way.

Think what you like Jim. I think you are being intentionally naive all things considered.

They could have had a pleasant Lunch anywhere discretely and still enjoyed each others company, but they chose to 'stimulate' the media knowing full well what the result would be. When SOS undertakes an act knowing the result will become rampant speculation the day after the Club has sacked BB I believe it is pure selfishness on his behalf. The Club has enough going on, does it really need this speculation on the front page.

Neither has any love for the media and an abundance of 'self interest' is ingrained in both. As Caro would say..........Poor form and ill considered SOS.

No, I don't sucked in by media bullshit like you might. They have been close since Lyon's days as an assistant at Carlton and have a business together. Why would you make more out of that and why wouldn't they catch up. Of course they will. I don't think in simple terms.

Too bad people get caught up by the "it doesn't look good". Sorry, if that's how simple they think then that's their issue.

What people don't realised is they probably had that lunch organised before anything had happened, knowing Ross would be in town then.

Interesting results so far which I think indicates there are some strange mindsets out there.

When given the choice between Ratten and Clarkson more people want Ratten.

Hard to fathom that thought process. 3 time Premiership Coach and one of the AFL all time great Coaches vs Ratts.

Go figure.

Geez Cazz, I don't know how old you are, but I'm old enough to remember London '87.
Personally I wouldn't want that grub Clarkson within a Bull's Roar of Carlton. Balme ditto !

On SOS and Ross, what a beat up, today I'm having lunch with one of my best mates. SHE is my friend and confidante. As much as we like each other, meeting for lunch doesn't mean we are getting it on.

You are being as intentionally naive as Jim. Of course it is a Beat up. But that's not my point. SOS and Lyon intentionally made it a 'Beat up' and they didn't have to. They just sit their smirking at the situation they know they have created.

...................If you were a married 'A list' Celeb who had split with his wife the day before and you were seen 'Having Lunch' with a Single, Blonde Bombshell 'B lister' I'm sure things might be different in the eye's of the media and the gossiping general public.

And if you still have the hates on for Clarkson does that mean you don't speak to Japanese or German people over 70yrs old, just in case?

Maybe Scott’s good mate North legend Jarrad Waite could have a word to him about Carlton. Might keep him away.
