I didn't think I could be much prouder of the playing group after the Port win, but this tops it. Couldn't be there this time, but pressure, grit, belief and will to win got 'em over the line. Oh, and some good old fashioned mongrel too, that hasn't been said about a Carlton side for a long time. As against Port we just wanted it more, there will be a few shame faced Cats after watching the tape.

The '87 boys were all about determination and grit

Bigger picture is that Bolton is building a reputation of maximising talent.... Opposition players will want to play for him and Carlton will once again be a club of choice... Strap yourself in, this could turn around very quickly, it already has started
