Not the point. Jones was given 6 weeks and dropped for one and did not do enough to warrant a call up.
Watson was given 3 quarters. Playing favouritism much? The kid should be given a fair go. At the very least 3 to 4 weeks or when and if Jones demands a recall!

Just watching the footy show and they reviewed the Cats V Blues game and not a single mention of Judds 300th ...

Because it's not really his 300th. It's just his 300th including preseason etc.

Sam Newman just hit the nail on the head

"The Carlton players see the ball as an opportunity to fail. And that's a fact"

Couldn't be more right

Jones did nothing from all reports I've read.

Bloody ridiculous.

MM has lost me along with players and supporters.

I just said I don't want either in the team? I agree with you, but they are structural inclusions.

MM should have identified this better in the pre-season and built secondary elements of the game plan around using a mosquito fleet forward line. That's something that Ratten did a decent job of.

I'm disappointed that Watson has lost his place for Jones. The ball didn't get down to the forward line much last week for Watson to have a crack at it. He must now go back to the reserves and stamp himself on the game, take some big grabs and kick 4-5 goals. If he wants to have a career in the AFL he must go now. Jones unfortunately has two more years on his contract.

If I were him I'd probably stop doing any arm related weight exercises in the weights room for a month; he needs to make better leads.

Any coach who isn't interested enough in his players to sit and chat with them on a weekly basis about their performance, goals and future is not even close to doing his job. I don't beieve MM when he says he doesnt know about Hendo. It's blatant lie.

Seriously, how does Army get another game?

Simple.
He's quick.
He's hard at the man and the footy.
He's never beaten when the ball is on the ground and he still has a remote possibility of getting it or killing it.
He gives you 100% of what he has, even though that isn't as silky as some of our higher regarded poseurs.

He gets a game because he's everything Gibbs isn't but should be.

BS, how long would such meetings take? 5 minutes? 15? 30?

Let's say 10, or 6 an hour. That's 7 hours and 20 minutes each week just sitting down with each player to have a chat. That's about 20% of the standard working week, but 'only' say 10% of Mick's.

Add into that he'd often be repeating himself in regards to team instructions and advice, and you see why that might be a silly logistical challenge to set for a head coach.

There's a technological approach that could streamline it a bit more, but we're talking about a football club here, not Google's support network.

he tries and applies the limited tools he has with 100% effort.

there's about 16 other guys out there who don't even know how to spell effort.

Sorry. I jumped in before I read this. I could have just said, "x2"

If a platoon commander a police chief or a university head coach can do it, can do it, a, AFL footy coach can. There's no such thing as a working week.

You write like a heraldsun journalist.
Secondary plan? With who ? An injured kreuzer or walker
Ratten did it better. He was the king of no plan B

Ratten operated a smaller forward line structure at times with good success. It was definitely something he had success with, but they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

Fact of the matter is we really shouldn't be picking a tall just because he's a tall.

Was David Ellard dropped from the team or injured?
