I'd rather roll the dice with Buckley at HF than Byrne in the back pocket at this stage. I know he's not performing well in the pre-season games but they have been throwing him everywhere. Let him loose and he will do the defensive stuff as required.

Our midfield almost seems to loathe uncontested possession winners as though they don't work hard for the football. The good ones do; they run their backsides off to create space behind them for their team mates, and for themselves to provide an option.

I did toy with that idea too.
Just thinking he might be out of favour at the moment, based on preseason selections.

This is where the media should be investing their time at the moment. Anyone who watched us in pre-season would know that Casboult was dicking around in the forward 50 and deserves to be missing.

Better questions should be asked about Boekhorst, Watson, Buckley and Graham, and our general lack of uncontested possessions.

With the Eagles injury woes we match up well and should win. No Darling, MacKenzie or Brown. Possibly an underdone Schofield if they rush him back. Waters & Cox retired.
Possible line ups;

Cripps. Kennedy. Lycett.
DOCHERTY. JAMO. HENDO.

Masten. LeCras. McGinnity.
CARROTS. WHITE. YARRAN.

Yeo. Shuey. Gaff.
SIMMO. GIBBS. BELL

Hurn. Schofield. Rosa.
EVERITT. ROWE. MENZEL

Butler. McGovern. Sheppard.
TUTT. CASBOULT. JONES.

NicNat. Selwood. Priddis.
WOOD. JUDD. CRIPPS

Lamb. Sheed. Wellingham. Nelson.
CURNOW. TUOHY. MURPH. SMITH

In: Tutt & Casboult
Out: Thomas & Jaksch

Jamo to stay on Kennedy. Not swap out constantly.
Bucks in for Yarran if he doesn't get up.
Gibbs to rotate fwd a few minutes a qtr, best mark & kick of the mids.
If Cripps & LeCras get off the leash try Everitt
Carazzo to play small defender or omit Curnow.

Carrotts is nearly our best inside extractor. Judd and Cripps the others.
Just got to get Carrotts to focus on that and let Gibbs Murph Yarran Bell do the outside line breaking...

Eagles should be bottom half dozen so we should be half a chance, if these guys roll us season could get ugly fast.

So far this site (after one loss) has suggested:

Coach to be sakced ASAP
Captain to be stripped of captaincy and dropped
Wooden spoon will be won by Blues
We should be tanking already
We should trade Henderson, Yarran and Gibbs for picks
The team as a whole has no heart
Buttifant has stripped the Club of fitness
No one is confident we could beat any other team in the league
DT is a has been who should never have been recruited (injured in first minute or so of game)
KJ was a wasn't worth a first round pick as he can't get his arms up and doesn't have a tank (even though he played game with broken ribs)
Smith was a wasted pick 61 has no idea at all and is fat
Our disposal is no better than it was in 2005
There are no players coming through on the list at all to be excited about
Jones cannot mark and a such is a dud who never should have been recruited
Board members need to be sakced

Pretty ugly already IMO

Surely with the Eagles undermanned key defensive stocks, we can exploit this (the way they have to us in the past) by brining in Levi. and going into the game with Levi, Jones and Hendo all up forward.
If not this, we can look at exploiting their lack of speed (as we have in the past), by brining in players with some dash like Tutt and Buckley.

Understand the idea of brining players like Bolt and Tutt but they have to be worth their salt

We already seemed pretty top heavy last week. If Jones and Henderson can't have a night out but maximise run through other changes then we're stuffed before we start.

I hate to say this because I love him as a player and I have met him a few times (he is lovely) but Carrazzo is taking up a valuable spot in the midfield. He isn't part of the future and we need to see younger blokes getting his role. I would love to see Buckley getting a similar run with role. If not him, someone like Graham or Whiley.

For mine:

OUT:
Thomas, Jaksch, Carrazzo

IN:
Buckley, Tutt, Casboult

Unless the Madhouse changes the game plan this week ... we are going to get ripped down the centre corridor.

Stack the forward line, take heaps of marks, and miss heaps of gettable goals.

With McKenzie and Brown out with ACL's, I'd like to see us play Levi and Hendo down there as a minimum.

Our issue is the midfield and interstate the onballers will go to water. Weagles by 4 goals

I don't often say this but that was impressively handled by ZT. Tony the hack Jones was trying desperately to rope him into saying the players might be distracted by the uncertainty surrounding MM's contract. Despite using what MM had said completely out of context ZT was adamant it was not a distraction for the players.

MM was saying that all the coaches are out of contract and that that collective uncertainty can be an issue.

Well done Zachary.
