Embarrassing.
3 quarters with an injured foot.
22 hitouts jumping off and landing on, the injured foot.
Vital spoil in the last few minutes.
Even just providing relief for Warnock.
Pfft.

I'd trade him.....but then I've said that multiple times before.
The scary thing is he'd be tracking worse than Josh Fraser at the same time in their careers but people get hard ons because of his 1%ers, I'd prefer a shitload more of 10%ers to go with those 1%ers.
The amount of dribble I see here in regards to Gibbs, Murph, Robinson etc etc is mind blowing compared to the faunicating over Kreuzer.

What one thinks of Kreuzer in general isn't part of this argument.

The guy played with an injury that needed operating on and without him busting his arse around the ground on Saturday and supporting his fellow ruck-man we may not have a Carlton vs Sydney thread.

If you can't applaud him for that, then maybe you haven't any hands.

Who Kreuzer?

He spent three quarters on the ground where many other men wouldn't have.
That's not a liability. That's an absolute bonus that he still had impact and was able to relieve Warnock and fare favourably.

Keep it real.

Has had an overall poor year impeded by a broken hand.

Had a solid run of six games but has been low on output from the Essendon* game to present. I wonder whether he's been carrying an injury through those games.

Is 25 next year. He won't be going anywhere, and would have every faith by his team mates and coaching staff that his best is about to occur.

Can't believe we're having this discussion. He's so much more than a ruckman, but he's a bloody good ruckman.

He's a very mobile 200cm that we'll need dropping back ion front of Tippet this week. No matter how hard Hendo and Jamison try, they can't grow an extra 7cm between now and Saturday.

Here's why these "discussions" come up, time and again.

Some of us make our minds up about a player and stick fat with that irrespective of the changing situation.
We actually just see what we want to see and our leanings are towards the negative rather than for any positive.

e.g. Kreuzer may have a great game but it will be the one poor incident which will be highlighted.

I'm not nuts about Kreuzer's output for the club ...yet... but its players like him, and even blokes like Duigan who are made for finals. Tough as nails.

Built to take punishment, and can also hurt the oposition too.

Never complain and never give up and committed to the last second.

His punch/ spoil through the goals on the last line of defense, with the Tigers attacking with their last ditch effort to win the game, with 5 minutes left showed how much ground he covers and is the best ruckman for getting back to help out his backline.

I wish he'd take a few more marks.....but his effort and value to the team should not be questioned...and appreciated.

Sure there's a couple better rucks out there but they aren't ours and they arent coming to Carlton.

Kreuzer is the bird in the hand.

Can someone explain the difference between this incident and the robbo free kick ?

One was a stoppage. One was a shot at goal/pass to the square.

Otherwise they're the same.

There's a specific rule about Ruck contests in that you cannot punch the ball through for a behind on the full if you're the defending team (not sure if it also applies to the attacking team... ie if its tied scores late in the game and they punch it through just to get a point, should that be deliberate??). The penalty is a free kick to the opposing team.

When the ball is in play and in dispute, it's fair game.

where'd ya hear that BKB?
it doesn't make sense to go with hammer after all this time.
surely it would be the Bolt, or outside chance Rowe?
I'd vote Bolt. for marking.

It's about 4/4 I reckon BG.

Not sure Bolt can run out a whole game or even 3/4 if its hard and fast.

Hammer has the km's to go the whole game and the swans may have three ruck options .

Hammer is listed as "2 weeks". Even if he's over his injury, he hasn't played for 4 months! Just a ridiculous notion that he could play, and moreover to argue for his inclusion on the basis of superior fitness!

In fact it's just punching the ball out on the full anywhere on the ground. The fact that Robbo did it through the goals is not relevant.
