I read somewhere in a paper over the weekend that Essendon* did well to keep Armfield to 10 touches.

Eddie Betts will be better for the run. Dennis Armfield, having enjoyed an afternoon out against Greater Western Sydney a week earlier, was held to only 10 disposals by the Bombers.

Nice work Jon Pierik, you fool.

This is their bye.

.@HawthornFC's Cyril Rioli to miss match against Carlton as club opts to wait until hamstring injury is fully healed #AFL

Some good news at least!!

What's the good news. Means they'll now go in with 22 instead of 21.

Hi guys,

If anyone is interested have 4 x tickets available for this game that I no longer require. (3 x adult and 1 x child.) They are L1 SEC47 ROW L SEATS 7-10. I would be willing to sell the 3 adult tickets alone so there will be a spare seat.

Obviously I cannot get a refund through ticketmaster so please PM me ASAP if interested as there are no L1 tickets available and this game is looking to be a sellout.

Cheers.

I've got 2 tickets spare too...

Lev 1, Aisle 9, Row C. Near the benches on the wing.

These are cheaper than ticketmaster as they are through work social club. They are $38 each and you will have to sit near me I'm afraid.

PM me if interested.

Not a fan then?
He was in the mix for captaincy wasn't he?
Geez that could've got uncomfortable.

Anyway, how come no one's called for McLean or Armfield to be dropped yet?

Perhaps because they've been among the consistent better performers

Hasn't mattered in the past.
(Obviously I needed a "taking the piss" smilie for that post).

Looks like Lucas and Robinson have assumed the whipping boy roles for this week anyway.

Hey "double_A" & "bluehammer" given our past record over the Hawks I wouldn't want to go to this game either.

Good call. But I actually am going I just have other seats now! Flying down from Brisbane for the 3rd time this year. Yet to see a win (besides the gabba). So here's hoping we can break the 8 year curse, however unlikely it is.

Just re-watched last Friday's game and would be more than happy to have Lucas and Robbo dropped.

Lucas has copped the majority of the flack, whilst Robbo has gone under the radar. Yet despite his obvious deficiencies Lucas has at least shown signs of improvement. Robbo on the other hand seems to just play his own game.

Even with MM at the helm ... I live in hope ... probably because I believe we have a very talented side. I also think Wiley has some coaching smarts and some influence on MM. I am concerned about the MC ... but am hoping like crazy we rise to the challenge in spite of all the negatives.

Come on Bluebaggers ... Time to draw a line in the sand ...

I don't reckon you'll be thinkin' that when the final sounds Friday.
I reckon we're going to be hungry and I reckon we're going to win.

Teamwise ... I've been saying Hendo must stay back all year. Now I'm not so sure. Could he work with Waite? We really need a second target. But then who takes his place in the backline? And what do we do for second ruckman? (Please ... don't play both Warnock and Kruezer).

Ahhh ... footy.

I'm ill this week and have watched the game several times in bed. Geez we played well for most of the game and I'm convinced that our passing by foot is the real problem. No excuse not making the distance to a team mate 15, 20 or 25 metres away. That should've been fixed in the preseason.

I'm a huge Robbo fan and took note of criticism directed at him post game. Yes it's warranted. He didn't seem to have a special role like he did with Fletcher. Very quiet and tbh doesn't deserve his spot based on form. Did nothing. He needs a good coach. Work in progress has a lot to offer.

The other obvious quiet ones were Betts, Yarran and Brock. I don't think Brock does enough and is too slow. Kids took off when he was on the mark. Easy pickings. Too slow for modern game and doesn't get enough hard ball to make him important IMO.

At least Lucas has pace to present. I wish he could tackle.

The deliberate ignorance of each other re Lucas and Armfield twice in the game was costly. First option should be automatic. Need a good coach to get that out of their system. Those calling for Armfields head need to watch the game again. He did well.cleaned up his opponent.

Seriously can't believe Judds kicking for goal...it hasn't been good since he came to Carlton. WTF. Should have won the game for us....we need a good kicking coach desperately. If we have its the wrong bloke or we should be sending our kids to the Swans development Academy.

It won't be a game of speed so if you are going to give Laidler a chance to prove himself this is the game, he could go either forward or back and he deserves a go due to his VFL form.

His form has been poor at VFL level the last couple of weeks.
