Umpires had nothing to do with it. We desperately need "real" leaders. Murph, Judd etc just don't cut it. Someone on this site made a comment recently like........what keeps MM up late at night is that our tough players have no talent and our talented players have no toughness.

The non-review was a mistake, and the sliding rule against Curnow was dubious. Otherwise they put the whistles away.

Just by the way, Essendon* have incredible tall talent. Carlisle, Hurley, Ryder, Daniher... and Bellchambers couldn't get a game and he's a better ruckmen than we have.

That is the next test isn't it.

Will the club get the cheque book out again and pay overs for someone or draft and develop.

Agree, is it the new operations man at AFL that's pushed this change? Works pretty well.
