No for Rowe.
My tip for announced lineup.

B - Tuohy Jamison Laidler
HB - Yarran Henderson Duigan
C - Simpson Carrazzo Lucas
HF - Garlett Hampson Robinson
F - Walker, Casboult, Betts
Foll - Kreuzer, Murphy, Judd
Int - McLean, White, Armfield. Sub: Bell

Emerg: Warnock, Rowe, Curnow

I reckon this is spot on. I'd rather Bell not be the sub though but not sure who I'd swap him for

I reckon Gibba might get a game

That is the big question for me with selection. Will Malthouse go with a forward line with :-

1- Rowe, Casboult, Resting ruck and Walker
2- go with Casboult, resting ruck and Walker like Ratts did
3- not play Walker forward at all.
4- Casboult White Walker and resting ruck.

I reckon Malthouse will go with option 1 or 4. Slight chance of 3. Will be using option 2 by round 5.

..so difficult to predict, until we know what our settled line-up will look like, and also if the players are ready to carry it out.. ..it's a serious worry that we don't have any real experienced KPFs, MM does tend to play 2 KPFs [CHF & FF] and then a ruck relief deep fwd when he has them, but he's as likely to go 2 talls and 2 meds [walker/white?] if the talls aren't good enough..

..i have concerns about Rowe's fitness base..
..ditto Bolt if he's expected to be KPF and 2nd Ruck..
..Walker i think needs to play more as a lead-up med fwd, vs trying to play too tall and take the big speccy..
..White i would prefer plays a defined 1 position role, vs being a swingman off the bench type..
[and wouldn't be part of my actual lineup]

..i can appreciate the temptation to play 3 talls, but they need to be proven markers, otherwise the risk of losing out to turnovers and oppo. run is too great..

Well blimey I missed that. That probably puts McLean to the bench, White or Bell out of the team.

Good pickup.

Geez. Hard to leave anyone out of that side. I guess White out for Gibbs. Would be really tough if Scotland and Waite were available!

Got the same impression from Mick's presser today. Boys are ready. Mick's pumped. I am pumped. Bring it on!

Eddie for 1st goal - after Kreuzer palms it down Murph's throat who kicks to Sugar who gives a lace out pass to Betts. :)

Silence the tigers early - once were up and about we'll be hard to stop.

Ah the days of three talls that could mark a ball - recall a game back in the late 80s when we went into a game against Geelong with Kernahan, Dorotich and Sartori up forward and the caught everything - without looking it up on Blueseum they would have kicked around 20 goals between the three of them that day (sighs wistfully).

Though I want Hendo fwd, if they want him back I'd leave out White. Jack kicked 6 on him a few years ago. By contrast, Jamo thrashed him last yr.

IIRC, Laidler played on Vickery Rd 1 last year and tore him a new one, I think we have enough tall solutions down back.

This hopefully locks Bell into the team.

Leaving out White also allows Rowe to play fwd, and given his recent form at CHB for NB, he and Hendo will be our swingmen for this one.

Yep, and hoping guys like Ellard, Watson, Graham, McCarthy, Menzel, Bootsma, Dale, Buckley, OKeefe are really pushing for a spot by mid year. If they can, it puts pressure on the senior players and may well add to our line up.

Lets not forget McInnes as well. Very good player that will improve our line up when fully fit.

..agreed McInnes really impressed me last year as well.. ..and i think out of the young blood, Watto and Temay are the most important, if they both can really come on we'll have a topline BP with huge endurance, releasing either Yarran or Touhy [possibly both] further upfield,, and Watto can allow Hendo to become the CHF we're bleeding for..

Have a feeling we'll be talking about the connect of the group moreso than purely individuals.

From what I have been lead to believe, we will have role players that may not have necessarily been in the team for skill alone. We'll see how that goes.

..as long as there's good understanding, and consitsency with team selection/line-up then we're better off automatically..

Carlton tweeted quotes from Mick this morning.

24 players trained (says herald sun) - including Bell, Garlett, Laidler, Joseph, Bootsma & Rowe + the usuals (what I gathered from photos on BF).

Carrazzo supposedly wasn't there. Hopefully he is number 25 in the squad.

Apparently Vlastuin isn't debuting. Good for us if true, would be a good matchup on Betts or GarTlett IMO.

@SupercoachPaige: That information straight out of the mouth of Troy Chaplin this afternoon.
