They hunt us, bruise us and pumble us with their best shot.
They know we like it bruise free...oh and how that comes back to haunt us.
Their energy sapped, but a great win against the arrogant foe, and its time to recouperate...and lose the next.

We've got to hunt them.
We've got to bruise them.
We've got to pumble them.

This game is the line in the sand game.
Do we have anyone to fly the flag? And who is going to back 'em.

Spineless? Lets see what they're made of.

I want some of what you are smoking. After yesterday's results and NB game I had it for this year anyway. If the media could just shut up about footy and the weather improve so I can pretend its off-season.....

Why wasn't this highlighted earlier.... Could have doubled up on the WCE & Geelong (off the bye) loss as a multi-bet.

If the Hawks beat us then back it up against GWS the next week in an upset loss, I like it!

Hawks have won 11 out of 12 2nd quarters this year we have won 4 - The 2nd quarter has been by far and away our worst - We just fall away after 1/4 time and concede bucket loads of goals

If we can stick with the Hawks in the 2nd term we may be a chance but if we do what we have done nearly every game this year it will be all over at half time

Just looked at that
Week 1 teams with the bye- 4 out of the 6 won the next week with Lions getting pumped by the hawks and GWS pushed Richmond all the way
Week 2 4 out 6 won again with Freo and Geelong losing who both played teams who had the bye the week before and both had pretty good games

So with the exception of the Brisbane Lions all teams coming off the bye have performed better

This will be the first match I've been able to see since coming back to Oz, and I've got a few expectations as to what I'll see:

- Hawks mids (probably Lewis) run at full speed at our guys in the middle, causing them to shit their pants and squib it
- Hawks to have 3-4 on board already before we even get a whiff forward, our first goal probably coming from a scrappy passage of play or Betts pulling something out of his arse
- Judd to be double-teamed, our coaches and other mids to be shocked by this move and slow to react to it
- Shifting of personnel to eventually lead to Watson having to man up on Buddy
- Jamison to go forward late when repeated forays forward for 3 quarters (on top of Betts' head) result in nothing
- Hawks ball use to result in at least 5-6 goals without us touching the ball
- Hawks to ease off late, we get cheap goals to make result look less humiliating, coaching staff and sugar-coaters point to "strong last quarter" as a positive
- Press conference to involve lots of "Probably", "Maybe" and "Good signs"

I feel sick already.......

Might wanna email that to the club to forward on to Ratts! Try to change the course of the game before it starts.

One of the perks of being out of the country for a month was only having to read about our pathetic performances, not actually see them ;)

Regardless, this is right out of our standard "what to do when playing Hawthorn" manual, so no imagination needed.

Just hurt someone. Come out and belt a Lewis or a Mitchell with intent for the first 10 minutes. Get on the front foot for once.

Lock down on their distributors from the back (Suckling/Birchall).

And really hurt them in the clinches. Take a few weeks holiday if needs be - we're playing shit anyway and they still get paid whether they are suspended or not. But put some intent out there and come out to hurt.

(PS - does not apply to the usual suspect Mitch Robinson. Would be lovely if someone else had a dip for once).

Lack of confidence, lack of form, too many critical injuries ... we are going to get pumped.

Waite and Murphy are really our only injuries ATM. Yes admittedly it's two of our best/important players (feel free to argue the importantance of Waite).

BUT...we had 18 blokes play in the VFL on the weekend, that alone should be putting immense pressure on spots in the 22.

It's not. Big worry. The list of 35 odd players to choose from is in reality of about 26 atm. Lack of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th year players putting pressure on the MC for a game is hugely concerning and the flow on effect (lack of effort in the seniors from fringe players) is absolutely killing us. Same old names in and out each week. So glad Watson got a run though.
