Port Adelaide is a perfect example that things can change pretty quickly in football, eg. look at them four weeks ago.

Trouble is we've been soft, mentally and physically, for too long this season without showing genuine signs of improvement, just the odd glimpse here and there.

There's still half a season left, so the optimist in me says we can turn this around and come good. But, right now, the realist in me is in stitches, pissing himself laughing at me.

Exactly how I feel. There is time but our deficiencies this season are well known and we have shown very little aptitude to rectify them. Not to mention the lack of fight, heart and hardness.

The likelihood is we will be 6-8 so the season will be a complete failure. Will struggle to play finals from there IMHO.

But by doing this.. we probably have to let a guy in the door who will have to battle a shit culture and a stench of past ghosts around the club.

The only person you can bring in that will tell stench to get !@#$%& would be Roos.(Cos this club is not capable of doing anything properly under the shit ikckers running the club)This wont guarantee a flag.. but would steady the perpetual Titanic we are steerring while eratin people have been around the club .

Younger coaches wont have the balls.... and will fail.

I've always had the feeling that Roos dislikes Carlton quite a bit - and that's what I find attractive about the idea of him at Carlton.

His team at Sydney played like a team - had defined roles and standards - focused on contested situations - strong bodies, uncompromising and competitive attitudes.

At the moment, we are losing contested situations on the ground and in the air all over the park and I think that's a development issue.

That's probably correct. But we shouldn't be losing in the manner that we are; the GWS and Melbourne wins were more good fortune than a result of hard work.

You don't need to be 6'6" and 100kg or a potential Brownlow medalist to have a fair dinkum crack. For the overwhelming majority of this season we have not had even a basic level of fight or desire for the contest, let alone being harder at it than the opposition. If anything our intensity and determination is getting worse, not better.

The club from all aspects were talking up our chances at the start of the year. We have failed to meet expectation miserably. The fans, and probably more importantly the players, deserve honest answers not excuses about injuries or stats. Those things should assist in delivering outcomes, not drive them.

If we everyone in the club was on the same page and genuinely believed we had a chance to win a flag this year then all the players would be busting a gut to minimise the damage while our injured players are missing. Instead, their coach is giving them excuses for losing (see post-match presser).

It is just not good enough.

We have had mental deficiencies for years now, not weeks. Is that being addressed, or continually excused?

Unfortunately, that appears to be a very easy question to answer.

Well put Camelboy.

We need to get the spirit back into this group.
They've become zombies. Disinterested.

Gotta Stand by your man.

Drinks on after training and after match day...build commeradery.
Tie up the Casboult and lets start where we went wrong the last time we tried to fix things up with this group.

We beat Geelong this week, and I think we will, we're 7-4. Not the worst scenario going around.

We went after Roos hard after the demise of Fitzroy
He chose Sydney
If we were ever going to get him it was then

Maybe that's why he dislikes us. At the moment I feel the same way.

Sydney..... Mrs Pratt needs to make a board contribution.
If shes on the board... she needs to contribute by opening her purse strings... and be there for a reason.
I dont see any other reason for 2 Pratts on one board...

She is superflous like most of the board.. at least this way shes being productive.

Every man has a price

In actual fact Rhino.. its not about that.. its about having a chance to win flags.

Were nowhere!!!

Just doing the dogpaddle around 5th isnt good either.

Better to march off the cliff ... that way things become highlighted and there needs to be a sense of urgency and a new plan.

I thought we'd beat Adelaide after the St Kilda loss. The blow torch has been on the club for about month and we haven't seen a reaction, so not sure why you would expect it to come this week. Especially at our favourite ground, Etihad.

Of a team that doesn't put in, and even worse doesn't want to put in.

Of a coaching staff that adopts 2yr old game plans and can't counter opposition tactics

Of a head coach who send wrong signals to his players

Of a club that doesn't have a core philosophy that binds all together

We lost to a club and team that is a rabble... Where does that place us?

This was the first year I purchased memberships for my two young girls meaning we had to sacrifice something else for them. This is now looking like a poor option and it's unlikely I will be wasting my resources this way next year as it would appear the club doesn't care at all levels.

Wonder how many more feel the same way?

Agreed.

Regardless, there's 16 weeks left of this shit to dogpaddle through. Players are playing for their careers, and I'd like to think that as a club we'd show something remotely resembling character for the first time in months, and get up here.

If this year equals one of failure, I'd rather get something out of it from a list management perspective also.

Interesting that he only went with the one midfield tag- Joseph on Boak, which was fairly effective in the scheme of things.

Might have done with someone being within 40m of Hartlett at some point during the night..
