Go for % or kick a few more and then mellow in the last (without giving away score) to save some legs for next week?

I'm a fan of running the game out. Percentage is important early on in the season.

And it's different at the end of the season because...?

Ask yourself why Essendon* was on top of the table yet only won by a margin 20 less than Collingwood in Round 1.

Sorry Brad, don't agree. The first half of that quarter was very ordinary. We got back on top, which is great. But I've got one eye on next week, and all I could see was Collingwood piling on 4-5 cheap goals quickly.

But we're not playing Colonwood. Very hard to maintain the effort against boys. We'll win by about 90 in a canter, but next week is the real deal, with hopefully Bower and Jamo back.

90?

If it's not well over the hunji, I'll be disappointed.

Fair enough, and I see your point. But tonight shouldn't be about the margin, it should be about how we play. For me, that quarter wasn't good enough. But I'm sure the boys will do better this qtr

Looks like someone's got into the umps' ears, reminding them how bad this looks. A few for us missed already.

BTW - how warm is it up there? Only a 6 day break. I understand if we only go 80% after the game was decided.

Get Thornton back into the forward line quickly where he can offer something. He is such a liability down back. He gives away so many free kicks in defence that you would swear he is doing it deliberately. Too ungainly as a backman these days.

Yeah and if he gives away a free in the forward line it's not quite so damaging.

Well IF he plays in front he shouldn't be giving quite so many away. Old habits die hard however. I get so frustrated with how many in the back decisions he gives away. I would love to see over his career how may frees on average he has given away per game. It would have to be one of the worst ratios in the history of the club.
