It was this time last year everyone was sooking about Yarran not performing. Can't hear any of that now.

Now it's Brocks turn. Whilst I'm glad he was dropped this week I recon he'll turn out pretty handy for us in time.

Patience is not practiced on TC

The Blues will beat the Demons for mine. I'll take about 25pts as it may be a bit slippery.

7-4 will have us looking pretty good.

Go Blues

I also agree that not selecting Brock may have something to do with not giving Melbourne more of a reason to fire up against us. A bit of a pychological play by the MC maybe.

Don't think that's it...it's more to do with pace (or lack thereof with Both Hads and Brock in the team) and form....I actually watched Brock closely last week...in close he is real good...its just his decision making at the moment that makes him appear to lack pace..this will improve as he begins to gel with his team mates and the game plan. Give him time...I have no doubt he will deliver...
Good post.
And just for some perspective re` using our first round pick on McLean, Jolly is travelling about as well as Brock and Burgoyne has been just average after returning from injury. (which Brock is)

If it ends up being a dodgy trade well them's the breaks, get over it, I think we have had a lot more success in our drafting than failure.

P.S Warnock will come good, he too was worth the punt!

I think you punt on 18 year olds, not on guys who have been in the system for 4 -8 years. We'd be able to give a pretty good account of the strengths and weaknesses of our players because we watch them every week. We should have people at the club who can do the same on players from other sides. You shouldn't get things too wrong with players from other clubs. There is plenty of opportunity to assess their value at AFL level. Our attitude can't be that 'them's the breaks'. It should be "how did we get it wrong.'

At the end of the year we can assess further, but I'd hate to have missed Kane Lucas to get Brock McLean.

It's Friday.

This is my POW.
I enjoyed every line.
Nice way to finish before the bounce...and win for 7-4 at 1/2WAY

Geez we've got a good list when we don't have to worry about the outcome of picks like 28 Warnock (2009) PSD Johnson (2009) 11 McLean (2010).

If those blokes come off in the 2nd half of 2010, and we're 7-4 at the half way mark, we are going to be knocking on th door, because we've beaten last years' Grand Finalists without them (well Jonno played against the Saints, but he wasn't the reason we won by 61 points; imo).

Where's Ol 55 when you need him?

OL 55 where are you?...sounds like "Car 54 where are you" for those who might remember.

Probably will win by 10 goals. Maybe I was being a pre weeken Nervous Nellie.

Andrew Lovett and Mark Williams. :yikes:

Essendon* traded Nash & picks 16 and 42 for Williams & picks 24 and 33.

If Williams' knee is as bad as Robert Campbell's, that trade might boil down to Knights trading picks 16 and 42 for picks 24 and 33. :sly:

BLUES BY 30 POINTS
Agreed

but i think the blues will win by 39 points plus!! not an issue. we're are better and stronger than them on every line all o ver the ground. saying that i have respect for melb and they will put everything in this game..but the MC dropping mclean and hendo tells me we are just as serious to leave out mark on this ganme. I think rats is the most improve coach int he comp ..and i hope he keeps it up
I am starting to believe that to be the case as well ... I really do not think we are giving him enough credit. It will start flowing soon.'

Don't be so hard on yourself 99. The first step is to admit you have a problem, so good on you

Damn Damn Damn
Not going to the game at the G.

Just got off the phone with Dees supporter.
He spoke with Bailey yesterday.
They are priming their team for this game.
They're sorta spewing the Brock isn't playing.
I think they had a plan with a message for him.
They expect to win this game.

Greasy slippery conditions.
They're raring to go.

There's a lot of class in both teams.
We should be ahead with experience, so lets avoid any embarrassment.

The Dees have beaten us over the last few decades when we least expected them to.
This is a must win game for us.
We better be switched on.
Please............4 pts for 7-4 at the 1/2way mark.

Not at all surprising, given they effectively wrote-off last week's game against Geelong. So they've been focused on this one for 2 weeks.

I'm not normally a conspiracy theorist, but I think there's a chance we dropped Brock to take some of the wind out of their sails.

Not at all confident, because I think Melbourne are capable of playing very good football on their day, now that the tanking's over. I think it'll be tough and tight all day long.

Their demolition of Brisbane is a good indication of what they're capabale of. If we bring the play that demolished Geelong and St Kilda they won't get near us. We have to bring it though otherwise we may well get done.
