Does anyone else reckon Fev is going to be dropped?

Given their lack of decent key defenders, we could probably afford to give Fev a rest this week and replace him with Hartlett.

Thoughts?

Exciting youngster Mitch Robinson looks likely to earn a senior recall, while forward Brad Fisher is also in contention.

Playing under the Big Top this week - Bozo preforms at his best under the Big Top

wouldn't take him to Adelaide - he has been a WOS interstate this year

IF Hartlett does come on and be the player we all hope(d) he'd be, then good on him - i'll be very happy.

Feel sorry for him with his bad run of injuries.

But the fact is, i don't think he has shown any type of decent form to warrant a place in the seniors.

As a defender - i'd much rather Setanta.
As a forward - i'd prefer Cloke (believe it or not) or perhaps even throwing Austin up there.

Hartlett for mine just hasn't shown enough. And despite the fact he was mentioned in the best last weekend, i think Robbo was one of the only ones who played like he was above the level of standards in the VFL. Crap Crap games.............. Just cause he's featured in the best doesn't mean he's worthy of a recall.

YES - He has a thumping kick and a good strong body and can take a mark - but so could Chris Bryan! He's hardly setting the world on fire.

Again........... good luck to Hartlett. But i just don't see him in out best 22 at the moment and haven't for a while.

Look from one angle what you say is spot on.

But, what else is there other than VFL and the other players on our list? We can't just pluck a gun young tall from nowhere. We have finite supply and the players we have now some are not performing so change is arguably a necessity.

We need to release Waite, unless we wait for Warnock to come in and then maybe we release Kruezer forward.

I am not hugely confident on Harts, but I reckon he deserves another shot. I wouldn't feel that way if it wasn't for his kicking. It was brilliant last weekend. Give him a go as a sweeper and kicker, might not work but hey, we're not going to go all the way this year so let's see what he can offer.

Thats all we need another 'sweeper'....

We have more sweepers than the Melbourne City Council ....

You need more than one though.

Hawks are blooding Mitchell there. Gives you versatility.

We desperately need to blood someone in the Waite role so we can re-jig our structure to make the fwdline more potent.

Blind Eddie can see that.

Harts is a elite kick so he ticks one box.

Anyhow, get the feeling maybe they have mentioned his name here abouts just to give him a carrot to salivate over, chances he plays Sunday in blue are about 25% in my book.

No way in hell.

Unless hurt.

Out of 100 how crucial are players to our chances of winning a game of footy, Judd is a 99 and Fev is a 90.

Stevens these days is a 35.

Houlihan a 25.

Betts a 60.

That's why I would drop him.

His foot has to be having an affect on his performances.

Obviously if he had a down game and had no injury then you'd keep him in no worries, but when is enough enough?

Asked about possible changes to the team ahead of the match, Ratten conceded young firebrand Mitch Robinson would be likely to return after a stint with the Bullants with forgotten forward Brad Fisher also edging toward a return to senior footy.

"Brad will be fairly close. He's worked extremely hard at VFL level," he said.

"He kicked three goals at the weekend – we didn't see that game because we were on the Gold Coast - but I've watched him for two weeks in a row and his performances have really gone well as has Adam Hartlett.

"He's played back and forward and his performances have been really good as well so they'll be in the mix.

Second Change would be Fisher for Wiggins.

No brainer here Fisher has been performing well in the seconds and is a younger more agile lead up forward than Wiggins.

let me just say Nick Stevens needs a run in the 2s as he has been shocking for 2 weeks we need an asnwer for cameron cloke coz he is a joke and we should never have dropped houlihan. Ratten is coaching badly he is to slow to make moves and doesnt have the balls to make the huge moves like last week he should have had Fev off the field he was doin nuthin and left Waite in the forward line. If i was coaching last week i would have dragged stevens and cloke for there poor kicking and shocking clanger stats Stevens in the past 2 weeks has been disgusting and WHAT IS WONG WITH THORNTON???? He is playin shit football it is so frustrating to watch the team play when they are playing like kids ratten should put every player on notice either play well or there out and have to earn their stripes coz at the moment its like the players are taking it easy not all of them but a good 5 or 6

For the pies we need some changes
In: Houlihan, Robinson, O'halphin, Garlet
Out: Stevens, Thornton, Cloke, Wiggins

wiggins needs a week in the 2s to pick up cloke is done with thornton needs help and stevo i have no answer for send him back to port adelaide or tell him he has to step up we should leave garlet and yarrna on the field as the are our future so if they play well or not they will be learning, robo has guts and goes in for the hard ball and houlihan we can use as run off the hb

In my opinion, Waite is the only one he is far from there, on performances this year he is ahead of Thornton for sure.

Level with Bower and I don't know about AUstin, havent seen too much of him.

My predictions for Sunday:-We dominate the first qrt but are only one goal up.
-Even 2nd qrt but Rocca kicks 2 through poor kick out following filth point and turnover on half back line.
-Filth get on top during 3rd qrt as we are forced wide to the flanks and kick a series of points from 50 out on an angle.Rocca scores another 2 goals through confusion as to who`s on him and dubious free.
-Filth 4 goals up 25 min mark,we decide to lift intensity and go directly to Fev. Scores level, seconds remaining enter Rocca for number 5.

Unhappy Blue.
