Everything is for sale and every player is available for trade.
All the clubs say that.
All they want is the right offer.
Lockett and Hall have been mentioned in this thread more than once. Both matchwinners. Both traded.
So has Williams. Traded.
The rules are a little tighter these days but the motives clubs have for entering the trade business remain the same.
If somebody wants Fev badly enough to offer what we want, he is gone.
If not, he stays and at the end of next year his contract is due and the fun will REALLY begin if he is not happy.
PSD anyone?

..griffin, hahn and a 2nd rounder for Fev..?..

..are you sure..?.. ..i mean, surely he's not worth that much, why not just trade him for a lucky rabbit's foot.. ..cos that's yer best chance of scorin' regularly outside the fitty.. ..oh wait, no need.. ..cos our entries into the forward fitty are genius..

..hey, what happened to griffin for lance, fisher and a pick..?..

..get over yer man-crush for griffin.. ..honestly, offering up trades of either Fev, or Fisher (either of our best 2 forward this year) for griffin is crazy-talk.. ..pure and simple.. ..curently there's less than a half dozen genuine spearheads in the comp.. ..don't mention Pav or Brown since they're more often than not CHF's.. ..don't mention Rocca cos he's a hack that dreams of being half as good as the Sav ever was.. ..Richo sprays them when 20m's directly in front, Lloyd's a softy that often can't score outside the fitty etc etc etc..

..we're not sayin' Fev doesn't have his faults, and to a certain extent he's a bum cos he can be so good.. ..and that's a shitty attitude we all agree, but yer don't trade away a genuine spearhead for anything less that top-shelf and i doubt anyone else is offering up their top-shelf players either.. ..why?, cos yer don't trade top shelf..

.."oh, but the saints traded lockett and then hall.. ..oh, i filled my huggies"..

..crapola.. ..the saints also got a bunch of PP's.. ..when was their last premiership..?..

Ratts just announced at his first Press Conference that Fev is required and not going anywhere......(but we have heard that said before too haven't we ?)

Also said he wouldn't be trade even if 2 first round draft picks were on the table. He said you can take Fev being traded off the table. Think he was pretty emphatic. Think after Fev's made it very clear, his manager's made it very clear, Greg Swann made it very clear during the Port Adelaide telecast I'm guessing he won't be traded so it probably doesn't really need to be discussed any further.

Yep.....I liked him saying that even if he's not kicking goals; he has to be manned up by 2 of their players, allowing the rest of our side to kick goals.

I just hope his attitude improves that's all.

Sounded like Fev to stay but Whitnall's position is very up in the air!

Don't hold your breath. Fev is Fev and won't change. He's like a washing machine cycle;

1. Act like a total tool
2. Get castigated/punished
3. Public act of contrition
4. 'New' attitude

Repeat ad nauseum.

Everyone knows his talent. Everyone knows he can turn a match. To some that's a built in defence everytime he is a total liability to the club on field and off.

To me it isn't.

And these comparisions to Judd and Brown have to stop. Brown has managed to grow up. What indication has Fev given that he ever will? And spare me the new attitude, new coach spiel... he was whinging to an umpire with his back to the ball when it was a metre away from him this weekend gone. They are premiership players and proven leaders of men. Fev couldn't lead his lunchbox.

It is no wonder the young kids at the club look at the older generation and shake their heads (and they do - I have heard it direct).

If we could get a first rounder and a player of real leadership quality to support Stevo, Murph and Gibbs next year I would jump at that in a heartbeat.

Woud have to be a really good deal for Carlton though. Maybe it can be a part of the Lade deal. Say Lade plus Westoff for Fev. Who knows but it has to be enticing otherwise we will regret it.

If this club gives up any young talent or top 20 picks for a 31 year old ruckman, it has learnt nothing from the past 6 years.

Lade can come via the PSD or stay put as far as I'm concerned. We've done the hard yards in rebuilding with youth, its pointless going back on it now.

+1

Should things remain as is, and Kruezer is our pick at #1, let's see if we can entice a recently retired ruckman (Darcy maybe?) to be an assistant coach/mentor for the big kids we have. We'd get as much out of that scenario as having Lade in the team for 1 or at most 2 years.
