Some points from footy confidential

- Caro reckons Pagan's gone (duh), and believes Voss and McKenna would be top of the list
- Carey reckons light shines out of Pagan's arse, and we'll find no-one better, and that everything is the fault of the players

Perhaps if Teague, Bannister and Saddington had of played today instead of Grigg, Bower and Kennedy, we may have won the game.
So what?
I'd much rather an extra game in those kids over an extra win in 07.

When we have success in 2, 3 or 4 years. It will be because our kids have developed and become good players.
Whether we won 5 games or 6 in 2007 will be irrelevant.

I want development and not wins from here on - no way would i want bannister, teague or saddington (and who says that we would have won with the three stooges mentioned).

And for those who read my post last week about pagan's comments he trots out every week (ie they are trying as hard as they can, when we looked threatening we butchered the ball, the kids make the mistakes, etc, etc).

Well, bugger me if I didn't read this from dickhaed denis "we butchered the ball in front of goal. but i just think our group istrying as hard as they possibly can, we just amke some basic errors - the young blikes made some crucial mistakes at the wrong time, you can't blame them but they're just the facts.

That really made my blood boil - who butcheered the ball, waite and walker (who it is suggested is not over the shoulder) and waite, friggin thornton kicked across goal (yet again), kouta fluffed two handballs that cost goals directly then a hand in the back gave away another. it just pisses me off. and did gibbs get a painkiller in the ankle in the first quarter - if so someone needs to lose their balls (remember whitehouse and fevs groin)

and i'll tell you all something for nothing, if they drop any of the kids (especially grigg, bower and kennedy or hartlett) i will ring the club and rip someones ears off. for mine there are lappin, thornton, betts, wiggins and bentick or scotland before any of the kids.

and again i draw averyones attention to melbournes kids this week with those they had out, and the scums playing of the kids.

piss off denis, NOW'

YUP! The very same one.

I remember somebody asking Carey 2 years ago on Fox Footy does he think Pagan is the right coach for the club. He said the same excuse.........'He needs the players'.

i would be extremely happy with Guy McKenna coaching the team. Was gutsy, tough, and relentless as a player and i imagine would be the same as a coach. Has learnt under mick malthouse too which is a positive....malthouse is the only ageing coach that still has an idea. Sheedy, Pagan, and Matthews are watching the game slip by.

MEMO WAYNE CAREY: YOU WERE A GREAT PLAYER
YOU ARE NOW A F%$#@ING TOOL
YOU WERE GIVEN CARTE BLANCE BY YOUR MATE PAGAN TO DO AS YOU PLEASED AT NM AS LONG AS YOU SINGLEHANDEDLY WON THE GAME FOR HIM ON THE WEEKEND. IT'S NOW YOUR TIME TO SHOW BLIND, DEAF AND DUMB LOYALTY TO THE MOST UNSUCCESSFUL COACH IN CARLTON'S HISTORY.............AND STILL USE THE EXCUSE ABOUT CATTLE. HAS IT OCCURRED TO YOU, YOU MORON THAT YOUR MATE HAS BEEN THERE FOR HALF A DECADE AND HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR A VAST MAJORITY OF THE CATTLE YOU SO DESPERATELY USE AS AN EXCUSE.

Was just looking in another thread and followed a link to Kouta's personal website http://www.kouta43.com

On the site he gives a personal commentary about individual games. In the washup from the Freo game he wrote:

Quote:
Next week we play Melbourne under a new coach and plan to be a lot more competitive than this week

I'm wondering if that was a freudian slip and DP was meant to be gone last week but for some reason survived for another week. Why would Kouta be telling us on his personal website that for the melbourne game we will be playing under a new coach??

Read another way, he was obviously referring to Melbourne.

If everything is the players fault then wouldn't it be better for Pagan to go elsewhere and inherit 'better' players?

It's all about his legacy at this stage.....he just does not want to finish his career on the end of a sacking. I guess nobody would but not sure if him staying is the best thing for CFC....I wonder if he feels the same?

Just heard a small snippet on SEN of Pagan talking at training tonight.. he said he belives he is the best man for the Carlton coaching job in 2008 as he's experienced the games highs and lows. Den Den believes hes 'the moist suitable man to lead this young group forward'..

I personally hope he's still got one more of the games lows to experience... the experience of being sacked! :-D

If he sticks around and continues to coach in 2008, I think this will have a an adverse effect on both on and off field development around the Club.

Would that be the same speech about being the best man for the job, doing a tough job, young men trying their very hardest under trying cuircumstances etc etc that we've been hearing for the last 2 or 3 years?? I expect the journos know it off by heart by now. He really just needs to come out and say:

"excuse No 3 lads!!!"

He may genuinely believe he is the best man for the job, and good on him if he does. Actions speak louder than words Dennis and I dont want to be hearing your Boilerplate mantra about trying their very hardest etc etc this time next year. You've had your go now sh1t or get off the can!!

For Carltons sake, Id go for the priority pick and let Pagan stay. But we are looking at a man that is very stubborn and will fight to the botter end.

Which is why I have always said about the inevitable sacking - is that it is a controversial one.

If we have a group of players that that hate Denis and a coach that has a skin as thick as a Rhinoceros and throw in a football dept and president that are soon to reach breaking point if there are any more losses.

Then look at a draw which promises plenty more losses - and Id say we have a gret recipe for extreme controversy and a sacking - either a decapitation now to appease the membership, or at the end of the season with dignity and a priority pick.
