What was Clarkson and Lyon going to do without key forwards lel
Probably what Simpson did without Josh Kennedy and Oscar Allen. Improvise.
We're all at sea. The players have no sustainable system to follow. So we kick it long to Cripps. Even if he has 4 players on him.
I can understand the frustration of supporters. We have followed and financially propped up the club for the best part of 20 years of absolute rubbish. Finally we saw a real rebuild with a willingness to cut the list severely, to bring in youth and to commence another generation of young stars. 6 -7 years later, the club is telling us the time is now and the team is playing superficial, defensively unsustainable football.
Teague fails to understand the correlation between offensive and defensive footy. He was asked about us conceding multiple goals in runs a few weeks ago. His answer was to continue attacking instead of going back into our shells. How about implementing a defensive system that slows the oppositions momentum instead continuing to bomb it long?
Hopefully the players have more faith in Teague than I do. He looks and sounds totally bereft of ideas. He seems well out of his depth.
As for replacements, surely people are taking the piss with Mark Williams? He's a loose cannon. He is good value at Melbourne because they keep him on a leash. Have people not learnt their lessons from Malthouse and Pagan.
Look to the future. Go back and watch how Box Hill decimated our VFL team with a bunch of no name players. Personally, as I said several weeks ago, I'd chase Sam Mitchell.
