I'm plagiarising here, but Fyffe hasn't played in a year, and smashes out 38 possessions, Murphy just wants to cruise around and ease himself into it.

This is the difference between our Club of mediocrity and the rest of the AFL.

Agree ... Murphy is not combative enough ... he doesn't put enough load on his shoulders ... get the feeling that doing little cute kicks and look away handballs is what it is all about ... why do you think the club is making Cripps the face of the club

Yep but Pickett and Marchbank look good
Imagine how good they could be in a good team
Goes without saying both must play against Tigers

Only certainty of tonight my prediction a few months ago that there is no way we will win a game if White A Silvagni and Rowe play in our team let alone in our back line

Better performance tonight but a poor pre-season overall

Good that Cripps got 3 quarters
Weitering well done
But what to do with Thomas lamb Palmer
Thomas on exposed form should not play against Tigers
Kreuz has had a good pre-season

We are gone if a side gets more than 2 goals up long season coming up

Those 2 are very good though.

Also, Weitering must play forward

Add SPS and Curnow and along with Cripps at least we can watch some quality run around

Cripps, Weitering, C Curnow, Marchbank, Docherty, Pickett, J Silvagni, maybe McKay, maybe Cuningham, maybe Fisher, maybe Jensch.

We're constructing. It's a gunna be a fun.

Yeah Murphy should be going 110% in a practice match, I'm outraged

Fyffe doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

Been the same old story for years.
Can't remember the last time we were a decently skilled side.
And we go and add Smedts and Palmer to the side which does nothing to improve this.
Would be happy for Weiters to stay forward if Rowe and White weren't so crap and didn't keep gifting the opposition goals.
The Pickett lad is a bit special. Got ourselves a beauty there.
Marchbank was worth the chase.
Can't wait to add SPS and Lebois to our side eventually
Reckon Harry Macredie will prove to be a steal

 So true, you can add Gibbs into the discussion. Just not hungry enough these two.

I don't mind as long as they give 100% in the real season.

I hope so. He was bloody pathetic tonight in every way.
Not alone though.
Our game plan allows teams to get between the defence and the goal. No change from last year. Their game plan has a wall of three behind our highest forward. Thus the bombing to a Freo player or in many cases, a group of Freo players. Not good enough. Our attack is pathetic. Not the players, the way we go about it.
Fyfe showed Gibbs how to play midfield. I hope he learned something. Fyfe ran all night. Gibbs didn't. His lowlight was one beautiful pass to advantage followed by his standing still admiring his foot skills when he might have run inside fifty and presented an option. I am sure Bolton would have written that one down.

Our hand and foot skills were way off the mark and unless we can improve them a LOT, the season will be long and frustrating.
The new ruck rule means Freo will enjoy a clearance bonanza for years until someone finds a 210 cm ruck. Sandilands will be able to play until he is about forty in the knowledge he can give his mids an armchair ride without having the opposing ruck jump into him or a third man jumping over him. Meanwhile we have Kreuzer, who can't jump much and so is severely hampered by the new rule.
Cripps was obviously lacking a decent preseason. He won't be 100% for a while yet so Murphy and the rest will have to do more until then.
Silvagni J. must be having the second year Blues. He can't get near the footy. His cousin had a serviceable game and should play round one.
We were shown up for pace all night. It's going to be a problem unless Cunningham and Boekhurst can break into the team with SPS and even then we will still be a few quick players lacking.
On the positive side, Weitering looks as natural up forward as he does down back. I hope he plays down back, though or we have wasted another high pick on McKay.
Pickett looks overweight to me but he knows how to play footy. He will play every game unless he gets injured.
Simpson was one of the few who ran out the game. As usual.
The rest didn't inspire. I thought the three quarter time score flattered us.

McArthy was worth waiting for for Freo. He was one of the big differences between the two teams. Along with their entire running brigade.

For a senior player how could Curnow be so stupid to give away a 50m penalty? To keep the player away from getting the ball whilst being over the mark. We give away so many stupid/easy goals?

Add SPS to that (going to be special) and minus jackchcsshc - these are the players in our next good team.

The other players are irrelevant and are there to take the hits until these guys are ready. It all about adding to the list you mentioned. It's only 10 or so players. Need another 8 over the next 2 years.

Maybe one or two of the youngsters picked late in the draft might step up into this group such as polson or macreadie

This is what we are building and I'm excited by it. The rest really doesn't matter.

Freo are so Crap-They will not make the 8th and will probably finish just above us. They are the only team that we can probably beat in Melbourne, and lose in Perth by a decent 20 points.

Long painful season ahead, but then again, we do need another Major Clean out by end of Season. I am already so excited and looking forward to next year

Must improved effort tonight. Let down terribly with poor skills, especially going into our forward 50.
Like the look of Marchbank and Pickett.
We would be lost without Simmo, always there to mop up mistakes.
Not sure if that will be our starting 22 for the first game.
I don't think we got any injuries so things not looking so bleak as they were after the first 2 weeks.

Pickett goes OK, looked very natural and very confident, get some games into that lad! Big effort from Kreuz.
