Can cut it any way you like - but if a public company had such continuing bad financial results the same board wouldn't survive and shareholders would be up in arms about the CONTINUING BAD results :banghead:

This is unacceptable and DOES DEMONSTRATE we are the worst run club in the AFL - the current board and Chair are responsible and should be accountable for the dreadful result

Really? Because St Kilda took 16 million from the AFL this year - putting them on par with Gold Coast for league contributions. If the Suns had a good financial year, they could cost the league less than the Saints in 2015. Brisbane took 15 million from the AFL this year, putting them not far behind.

We arent even the worst run club in Victoria, let alone the AFL.

You know your club is in trouble when supporters start comparing you to StKilda, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
All good

2011 balance in equity $13.4m
2015 balance in equity $ 8.9m

Value of the club has eroded by $4.5 in 4 years with approx 60% of that erosion ($2.7m) occuring in the 2015 year.

We better not have too many more of those years.

Missed this in the report:

Quote:
A $1,539,050 decline in Sponsorship and Hospitality revenues predominantly due to the non-renewal of a $1,500,000 sponsorship signage agreement in 2015

What sponsor and sponsorship was this?

That's $1.5m minimum, with a minimum of $1.2m to come off our expenses. The increased AFL income alone will see us break even in 2016.

The momentum needs to be built for 2017, as well the continued exploration and fostering of additional revenue streams.

They're still a lower-tier sponsor as before, and Ikon took over the ground sponsorship (which they seemed to have at least matched).

Ok so we had one less platinum sponsor in 2015, we're back to 5 in 2016.

Basically from 2014 to 2015:

- Ikon and Visy swapped sponsorship packages
- MC Labour dropped out
- SportingBet was replaced by William Hill
- Picked up another gold sponsor (ZTE, now a platinum sponsor)

Looks like our sponsorship numbers should go up compared to 2015.

2014 membership, merchandise and sponsorship numbers would've covered the net loss, well pretty close to it from memory. It's in the report, have a look.

The problem is still how to prevent those figures repeating though. Membership looks better already, new sponsors may increase that shortfall, merchandise should be covered by #2 sales alone (Obviously lots of new future potential champs for kids to jump onboard with).

Good choice!
Hawthorn are going to win a lot more flags in the next 10-15 years. I wish I could bring myself to supporting that team.
I won't say the Tasmanian gift from the AFL/loophole helps in their success as apparently I am like a broken record on that.
And what makes it even funnier is that Carlton is now Hawthorn's lackey in Tasy, playing one of their exhibition matches down there next year whilst Hawthorn reaps the rewards.
