I agree with that CB.
MLG and Trigger say the right things, they know what is needed and where we are at. They are not into quick fixes, and are trying to engage the members. They want a rebuild on and off the field. They've acknowledged membership is poor and identified the disengagement between club and fan.....
....on the negative side is they are clumsy and at times naive about how they go about things. They have little to no experience in fixing the problems they've so rightly identified, and from the outside don't seem to have the right people or funds to do as much.
I think however Trigger is copping a bad rap for the last 5 days, and taking the heat for what has been slowly festering for 15 - 20 years.
From the outside it seemed dumb to go public as he did prior to Friday night, but you can't help think he knew of the consequences and wouldn't be upset by yesterday's events.
The board backed themselves into a corner and Mick wasn't going to quit. If in fact he'd gone feral and rogue internally as had been whispered since around the Collingwood game then something had to give. Trigger gave him the rope, and the rest is history.
It's not ideal, but thankfully we haven't got Swann and Sticks talking of Top 4 finishes, and needing a Premiership coach to "finish off" what had barely been started...
They at least realise were at Ground Zero, but there is still a lot more change needed before we can even think about beginning the climb.
Triggs and laguidace may have some good intentions but are not smart. Clumsy managers with no finesse. Still you have to work with what you have. Trigg is a c grader who is a mile ahead of lazy Greg Swan. Laguidace same par as sticks. We need someone in between them and the high standards of harris, aylett and mcguire. Fitzpatrick is best. I think he would do it
