Perhaps Trigg can use his Crows connections to grab some of their players.

Grigg and Kerridge are two we could grab for cheap and
Gibbs for the Crouch brothers would be great.

They are knocking this year.

Next year they are certainties.

Can't have too much space left in the cap after paying Boyd all of that money.

I agree. He has played his best footy down back. I would have Casboult, Jones and Jacksh as our forwards at this stage until they realise Jones isn't up to it and then hopefully we find a proper CHF/FF in the draft.

What have we got to lose?

Na, Casboult is crap. Proved that for me today. Drops too many marks that matter, and lacks basic skills. Flower off Big Levi

If we need to give to get (and Gibbs out would top my list) how about letting go of Menzel (who possibly will walk in the future anyway) for Motlop who is out of contract at years end and Jordan Murdoch and Dean gore?

I rate Menzel but Motlop is proven and players like Murdoch and Gore have plenty of upside.

LOL..Let go of Menzel cos he'll possibly walk anyway and yet you nominate 3 players to get who could possibly walk themselves in the future back to SA.

And the difference is....?

Kerridge should be high on our list.

Nothing. Any player can walk but 2nd club is less likely and the chance to build something and potentially play each week might keep them there. Menzel doesn't convince me he'll stay as much as it would be great if he did. He has a lot of currency and clubs would look at him. Insert 2 or 3 other names if you like, those are just 3 I like the look of.

Yarran on the table.

Brilliant at times but too inconsistent and unreliable at times.

Reckon we'd get overs for him...

I'd take Motlop and one of their decent kids for Menzel. The rest I'd keep, including Yarran.

Casboult is lazy, so many times yesterday he should have been in the frame when we were using Ellard/Armfield as our CHF and let those guys be the crumbers.

No idea if he was told to keep Hooker out of the contest, didn't work anyway.....

Just refused to provide an option through repeat efforts

Casboult lazy? he's almost two meters tall weighs over 100 kgs not exactely a lite weight? We can't expect Hendo type mobility the atletisicm is no there.
Put him closer to goals and give the guy some descent delivery and then we'll talk.
He's got great hands and can do some bullocking work to spread the packs.
We need that. Unfortunately his kicking is a big flaw, their doing intensive coaching one on one to rectify the problem, let see how he goes in second part of the season when we can field a decent team too.

I agree. It's a tough call but I reckon we talk to one of the WA clubs and try to get get a great young kid and a high pick for Yarran (and maybe we throw in another player as steak knives). When DvR and Byrne eventually cement their spots alongside Docherty on the HB line we won't rely as much on Yarran's speed to break through the opposition's press - all three are creative, quick *and* can hit a target by foot.

Trade him now, while he has currency.

Not saying I disagree with yarran trade completely but if those names mentioned do come good i am sure yaz can prove more than handy in the front half.
at 24 still has 7-8 years ahead of him as well so it would want to be a pretty good deal.

Murphy - I still think Melbourne is the most likely destination. A team on the rise that needs a goal kicking midfielder and a bit of polish, with the means within the cap to achieve it. Assuming we finish last and Dees, third last. Ideally some sort of deal involving pick 3 (Murphy and our second pick for #3, with a swap of third rounders perhaps?). Think other clubs will be either put off by length of contract remaining, or purely unable to accommodate the size of it.

Gibbs - Could definitely see him ending up at Hawthorn as Burgoyne's replacement if there's a fair exodus post a potential threepeat. Like most sides trading with the Hawks, we'll probably get reamed. Pick 16-18 or something.
