It's not about how good or bad journos are, it is about how well Malthouse represents the club. A coach is about the whole package and there is no coach who is worse than Malthouse in representing the club when interviewed. When journos ask silly questions he sinks to their level, when he is challenged he doesn't calmly and clearly articulate our direction, our shortcomings etc he bristles. His pressers are the worst in the AFL, even worse than the Scott whingers. He is being paid by us, he has a responsibility to show us respect by answering for the teams performance and telling us clearly what is going right and wrong, and that needs to be done in an environment away from the dorothy dixers within the club.

If he reckons he can behave selfishly and churlishly when asked questions why should he expect the players not to have that attitude.

Nailed it. He's also an employee, not some guru who has graciously come down from the mountain

yeah i know we havent had one for a month and more... so not talking about that.. talking about swann

synners you have a serious lack of respect for people on this site. your high and mighty attitude is beyond a joke

we all have opinions, and just because they may not be the same as yours does not mean we are wrong, and that you are right all of the time.

I agree with a lot of your posts, but you are so full of your own opinion, and you show an amazing lack of respect for others

you are one of the most arrogant, condescending tools on this site, and your blatant arrogance and superiority complex pisses me off.

you do realise that it takes all sorts of people to maintain a site like this, and that your constant putting down of others only makes you come across like a pathetic small man. you must take great pride in putting everyone else down, were you so neglected by mummy when you were young that you have to try and bring everyone down to your level?

we are all pissed at the club, but let others have a say too

yeah bender .. its true....

i think most people in the world are dumb
i did let people have a say too
lucas was gunna be great
bootsma is a midfielder also cos hughes said so
watson has a good boot
sticks is a good president
were gunna win flags
was ok to have 20 hbfers drafted in 6 years
ratts was a smart man
mckay came from the afl so is a gun
were a huge club

anyway bender be pissed at the club..... now....

i dont mind being called an "arrogant tool".. but dont call me "stupid"....

and where in that post did I call you stupid??? or do you just read what you want to read?

I am home from 4 lovely days in Sydney. Saw lots of the sights, Harbour Bridge, Opera house, Manly, Bondi, ferry cruises, Hyde Park, Darling Harbour. Had lovely weather, lots of blue sky.
Shame about the bloody footy.

We have been making the Finals in the last couple of Seasons and finishing around 8-9th Position. This year, we were expected to go further and challenge for the top 4, but what happened was a reality Check!!!

We have gone backwards... Why? well I believe it's because we have already reached our Peak of finishing as high as 8th. We have reached our limit and potential with is playing List. It is downhill from now on!!

I have learned one Valuable lesson: You can not build a successful club around recycled players and rejects from other Clubs. Players like Daisy, Everett & Co are Average players whom at their peak will be B Graders.... What the club lacks and needs are A Grade Players!!!

How do we get A Grade players? It's Via the draft...making the right choices and making the most of the limited opportunities we get each year...

Sadly, Our Terrible recruiting for many years have come to bite us hard... Our List today is the result of so many wasted opportunities at drafting some talented kids.

We are surely the Number 1 Club that has wasted more First round draft picks than any other Club. How could this club allow the Recruiters to remain in Charge, after years of stuff ups?

Same people potting Yaz for having a laugh on the ground that were potting him for having a sook on the bench when made sub last year. Can't have it both ways.

What strikes me as a common trend this season is how little resilience this group has. More than a few occasions this year, we've been right in it in the first quarter, and the reward for effort hasn't come on the scoreboard, and we've gotten smashed not long after the head drops. Compare say the Geelong game where the reward for effort did come to last night (Bell's disallowed goal, the dicey 50m penalty), or even the first Collingwood game where I thought we were again good early but couldn't put it on the scoreboard.

No real sense of what adversity is. No blowtorch ever applied to get them to work harder. Culture of near enough is good enough will do that to you.

To be honest, I didn't read your post and have no idea what your thoughts were on it, few posters on here other than yourself?

Do we want him to care more, or does he care too much when its not in his best interests? Do we still have too many introverts?

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

What I've noticed in a similar vein, is when one of our players kicks an unexpected goal lets say....a difficult snap from the boundary or whatever; which was desperately needed by the team.

There's no convergence of excited team mates rushing in excitedly to hug him for his effort and goal....just the usual hand slap in passing.....no passion....no ''let's keep this going....we can do this mob'' or whatever.....no bloody enthusiasm at all......''oh yeah.....it's a job'' seems to be the go.

I wonder what TalkingGeelong was like after their 100+ point flogging at the hands of Sydney?

Was the exception rather than the rule.

Where was the same passion after half time? That goal got us to only 7 points down, which was an impressive effort, given the skills in the first half were pretty ordinary, but the effort was good.

I am trying to block out Saturday night. Very disappointing game, there were quite a few Carlton supporters at the game. Wasnt expecting a win but that 3rd quarter was hard to take. Havent watched the replay but did we get a free kick in that quarter? Totally outclassed but i thought we had a go for the other 3 quarters. I have to catch up with what has happened, being in Sydney there is virtually no AFL news. We couldnt get 7 mate on our TV so missed all of the other games, a few upsets i see.
A nice break all the same.

Our indifferent midfield with the following possession count:

Bell - 14
Judd- 13
McLean - 11
Ellard/Graham - 11 (combined)

Whilst Kennedy 41 and McVeigh 29 (does anyone ever think to tag this guy when we play Sydney) just about says it all.

Our midfield are never prepared to or just can't work hard enough against Sydney, it's an embarrassing indictment on this club.

you'd think micky woke up from last year’s final, but I think he was waiting for mcveigh to get up to 39 before applying some pressure and the best inside mid was going to have to run out of batteries sooner or latter

siesta time not over yet

the bright side was that our fans in the stands got a closer view of our players

Said earlier in this thread:

"the whole 5' 11' of Luke Parker taking a PACK mark against 3 Carlton players coz they were all watching a Swans player instead of the incoming ball. And one of those 3 Carlton players was Levi.Effen pathetic !"

Never a tru-er word spoken. Nothing Malthouse can do about a SHIT list. Parker even kept his feet after the jump, and Levi goes tumbling over!!!
