I can't stress enough how disappointing the result was and how unforgivable the loss is... but please, the umpires were awful.

If you can see the indiscipline acts and missed opportunities surely you could see the rough end of the pineapple being pushed up our sphincter by the umpires.

Yes but if we're any good we're 8 goals up in the last qtr anyway.

Is this legit re: Judd's $$$'s this year & request to play on next year?

Brisbane got 5 goals from bad decision.
Add to that, Waite put down in the forward 50 behind the play... no free paid.
Brisbane player caught holding the ball for an eternity.. ball in our forward half... Waved play on by umps.
You know the decisions are bad when even the commentators say they weren't there.

I wouldn't think so.

If he were to play on I'd suspect the figure would be much closer to $250,000

Flew up for the game yesterday... we try and do an interstate trip once a year but it's the last time I waste my time and money on this club, in it's present condition.

It stinks from top to bottom and now it's too hard to locate the smell.

Umpires? wah wah wah... never should've been left to them... it's the bottom team ffs

That start was embarrassing... why did they need a rocket from the coach at qtr time? It happens all too often... we allow teams to jump us and then play catchup.

I agree. Undisciplined but understandable and it's not the sort of thing he does regularly. Unlike #30.

Feel for you, we looked at going to this game too. We went to Brisbane and Gold Coast last year so decided to do the Sydney trip this year, looking forward to that belting.

I usually do 3 to 5 trips to melb from syd to watch games but this year it will be only 1 the PA game, I refuse to waste my money on a club that doesn't care. Im really starting to think I will not see another Carlton premiership in my life time and im only 40.

Watched the replay today and I have to say remove umpire influence and we had that game won. Umpires definitely bought about a win for Brisbane. I don't know what to think anymore.

Its disappointing we lost to lowly Brisbane, but in a fair game you cop that on the chin. The influence the umpires played in the last 15 minutes of that match is indisputable (watch it again if you can stomach such blatant favoritism for the home side)

The misses says its time to give AFL away completely, she no longer wants to attend any games. She's been saying this for a while and after last nights blatant cheating by the umpires I'm slowly beginning to agree. I know one family of supporters means nothing to the AFL especially since they can afford to lose many Victorian supporters as their focus is on the wealth of interstate footy fans.

No one can tell me there wasn't a concerted effort by ALL umpires last night to give Brisbane every opportunity to win that home game. And that is why people with any sense will eventually drift off to other forms of recreational sports for their kids and entertainment.

All I can say is before you go ripping this team a new one, watch the last quarter again. Truly a concerted effort to get Brisbane over the line by the umpires. Now ask yourself, how is that even possible?

When we were 16 points up in the last quarter we had two red hot chances to kick a goal and ice the game, but fluffed both entries into the 50.

Don't let the team off the hook and blame the umpires.

I am not as upset as many. Had we won we would have continued to chase finals,. Now the club can sit back and rest sore players and get into list management. I don't think we need to go purely to draft picks. The recruitment of Doherty and AE shows there are plenty of younger talented players out there, especially at GC and GWS. This way the rebuild can be quicker. Looking forward to next year.

maybe the umpiring was shit in the last qtr and we were stiff.

however, it serves us right for turning up like the pack of mentally weak cauliflower we are in the 1st qtr. we gave the bottom of the table side 10 shots on goal and a 5 goal start before we woke up.
sides know they can get us if theyre given a sniff - no matter where they are on the ladder. guess what, we gave them a sniff.

The umpiring should never have been allowed to become a factor in the result. The blame lies with the players and their insipid start to the game. There's no excuse for being that far behind at quarter time, that's where the game was lost.

That was quite possibly the funniest thing I've seen all week.

Showing a picture of a doppelgänger is hardly offensive.

Pull your heads in. Only Essendon* supporters blame the umpires.

I'm not so sure. If history is any indicator, they will continue to bury their heads in the sand.
This isn't a professional operation - and there sure as hell isn't any list management!!!!!!!!!

I'm fully expecting only another 3-4 draftees as usual.
1 trade if lucky.
No hard decisions to be made on players with currency: Kreuzer, Gibbs, Jamison, Robinson, Armfield Walker, Garlett (anything we can get) etc should all be up for grabs to infuse our list with young talent. We aren't going forward with these guys. If they can be moved on for assets that can move us forward - they should be. Get rid of them and build a new culture.

No delisting of players who should be moved on: Waite, McLean, Carazzo, White, Watson, Bootsma, Ellard, LUCAS, Temay, Mcinnes and Garlett if not tradeable. These players should be swept out immediately.

We will be god awful next year. But at least we can get players with heart, who can work together to build a system together. For the modern game.

This is what must be done to rebuild. I'm expecting under a qtr of this to be happen, and carlton to continue to wander through the abyss for more years to come

I have the same thought process as Mikkey but your points are valid. It is my great concern. I don't know why but we seem to be the last team to embrace the draft. Right or wrong that is the system and we need to address it and drastically improve our List Management and Recruiting.
