tell us what the best thing about having that game..kk and why u r sooooo excited...
cos u wont be going.... so it must have made a mark in your life... as a very vocal supporter of good friday footy....

to tell u the truth.... i dunno about your household... but everybody i spoke to about that blockbuster is underwhelmed.. even those that waned it...
except of course bulldogs supporters... kangas supporters and their dogs...

u actually think its another nail in the good friday cross dont you??(pardon the pun)... and that excites u..BUT actually makes no difference to the day...

and for me as i have said countless times it makes no difference...from my religious and cultural point of view...

but... it is another day of footy trampling into pathetic peoples lives...where u pay $10 for a pie and $15 for your beer....
and have another day the same as every other day on the dumbed down life people already have...

its ok... celebrate it!!!... should be on straight after 'today tonight'...

wont makr a difference to boring peoples lives anyway.. they wont wake up suddenly becoming exciting peeps.

or will they?
hmmmmmmm

doubt it....

They're doing a disservice to the Royal Children's Hospital by putting that game on.

which crusade are we talking about now????

the reality is,,, people will go to the footy and spend $10 on a pie $12 on a beer... and $30 getting their family there to either park or catch the train

where it should be about other people ... especially those less fortunate than themselves...

its just corporations bleeding every last cent out of us.. and encroaching into every nook and cranny of our lives.. and forcing people to be part of their world.
whether its people working on that day for us.. or whether its people too dumb and in a community void expecting to gain some kind of instant entertainment because they cant find social or community enrichment in any other way

the nail isnt being hammered into the cross here..... oh no no no... its just another nail hammered into our society....

i agreee with you dane...

people are too dumb by half these days....

oh and in case some of you didnt know..... that filet-o-fish isnt real fish......

welcome to your corporate life.....

Don't racially or culturally stereotype me.

I don't have to justify myself to you and your pseudo intellectualism.

I think actual game attendance will be crap but tv ratings will sky rocket.

Agree that it's a disservice to the RCH.

i dont think people will watch it in the numbers u think chucky
if youre not doing anything on a friday night and wb and kangas are on would u watch it?

but yeah in the classic boiling frog syndrome... in around 5 years the afl will make it Essendon* collingwood or something.

start with a benign doggies kangas game so as to not be accused of hijacking the day for themselves and then roll it so its all about the afl...

they dont give a @#$%&! as long as were all shitting football. every possible day

cant wait for the monday morning games.....

We will find out next year what the numbers will be synners. You might be right. Maybe the AFL Wants it to fail thus giving it a crap game. Maybe they think it'll rate it's socks of no matter who you put there.

My guess its the later as there are a lot of bored agnostics/atheists/non Christians/non practicing Christians who'd love something like this to fill the time.

I think you are right though that given time it'll go to a combo of the bigger clubs. This is merely a toe dip by the AFL.

I'm in this group but I still don't reckon I'll watch a Dogs v Roos match.

Yours, of course, re corporate greed. I agree with a lot of what you complain about on that front.

I accept the symbolism of losing Good Friday to football, but I just don't agree that Good Friday is the last remaining barrier between a healthy society and being run over by the corporations as you are suggesting.

As I said, that battle was lost a long time ago.

I look forward to your reasoned reply which addresses the words I have written and not the ones in your head.

Good Friday football doesn't appear to be any worse than playing on any other public holiday.

The public will gobble it up.

It's often the case that there isn't a perceived demand for consumer products.

Anzac Day, Friday night football, Monday night football, twilight games, Thursday night football.

Some stick around, some will get the boot. Monday night footy is probably for the chop.
It's just another day. The public will determine its success.

I think it will go well.

I really do hope we all pray and apologise to Jesus for this decision or eat a Filet O' Fish instead. He likes people who eat Filet O' Fish apparently.
