Lots of low stats tonight, tackle count was high - 71, would have been 100 if the others stuck....

Mick is happy.... Looks better on tv after a win.....

Very happy to have racked up two wins in a row at Etihad against our two biggest bogey teams.

I thought for sure we were going to lose the game, the last quarter was pretty hard viewing.

That said, both teams had 7 scoring shots so we could just as easily have won by a comfortable margin. And, well, we won, so we have to be happy that we were able to hold on when they had a massive roll on with 4 or so minutes left in the game.

When Harvey was running in for that goal I thought for sure it was going to be the only thing he would do for the night and would then celebrate like he won the flag. Aside from some superb individual moments from our boys (notably Yarran's mark and Hendo's skill to set up Army) the bad bounce for Harvey was easily the highlight of the game.

There were 6 lowlights though and if anyone is lucky they didn't play in the 70s it is Lindsay Thomas. He would have been dealt with by most teams about 100+ games ago. !@#$%& litte shit.

thought wattos was pretty good

Tackling as a whole was a huge improvement on last week.

Felt like we were rewarded with more HTB's in 1 game, than we have all year. Got Cunnington 3 times.

Yes I know he was very good last week but said a while ago he will be the most overrated $800000 a year player next year. And add to the fact that he is the most overrated $1m+ player this year.
Will see odd glimpses from now on but his career is coming to an incredibly speedy end.

Who said he's on 800K next year? Quick to write him off

Unfortunately Kruezer's ruckwork hurts us. We need to play him forward as the no.2 man and get Warnock in the middle.
I love the guy but he's tap work is far from good. I still thinks he wants to rove to his ruck work. :screwy:

..hitout to adv was 28%.. ..his ruckwork is good, our midfield set-ups are shizen..

I don't particularly care what the % are. I know what I see and that is his ruck work is terrible.
As an amateur footballer our ruckman could see where we where before he competed for the ball. Surely Krooz has some idea where his midfielders are befor the ball is thrown up, so why does he continuously put the ball to his feet? Sorry I know what I see at every contest and the very reason he chases his own taps!

Mids are suppose to be on the move when receiving the tap and letting the ruck know were they are by using their voice (planning were the ball will bounce and what position you should be in isn't a plan).

We have a very peculiar centre bounce set up. Two of our players were facing Kruezer at centre bounces ... so if Kruezer does tap to them they have their backs to the goal and therefore no clear run to kick the ball ... therefore we only had one player that could receive the ball and run forward and kick the ball.

Too many of our players play flat footed at the stoppages, plus we don't have many players with "standing start" speed.

This is one reason we could do with a Daisy Thomas because of his ability at stoppages ... reads it well, one touch player, standing start speed.

Yes Kruz usually either side steps his opponent, taps to his left short and on occasion rips one.

He should focus more on his leap than were his opponent is as he takes his eyes off the ball moments before he jumps, making it hard for himself for the best judgement,.

Kreuzer could be a very good tapruck but he is been mismanaged.

What the !@#$ is the midfield coach doing anyway. :banghead:

We had a very peculiar set up at centre bounces. Two of our players had their backs to the goal ... this means if they did receive the tap out then they are not in a position to run full steam ahead towards our goal.

The problem at our stoppages is not Kruezer or Warnock or Hampson but our flat footed players at stoppages.

Ask yourself something ... how many of our players have "standing start" speed.

We could sure do with a Dale Thomas at the stoppages.

Yes, I thought he'd agreed to 400k

FMD... half a Judd is still better than most of our list... sad but true

He's lost a bit but he's also taking a big pay cut next season... gotta be happy with that

Not much change from 800000
Yeah, I have written him off...in the sense that he'll just be a quality mid rotation who's part of our best 22. Nothing more, nothing less.

Absolutely. 400k is good value for us. Still got 17 possessions in probably the worst game he's played in years. I don't know how many opposition (and Carlton) fans I've heard say Judd is 'cooked'. I wouldn't be so quick to write him off. He's still been close to our best player this year. Just doesn't seem to be able to do it every single week like he has in the past. Hopefully opposition clubs pay him less attention now. He will prove a few people wrong I reckon.

Nope. I've tried several times since yesterday.

The other games from the weekend seem to be up...

Interesting comment from Mick in the post-match talking about the requirement to control the middle in modern footy:

Wonder if we can read anything into that regarding the likelihood, or not, of going after Tom Boyd.

How lucky were we when sheepdog Harvey overrun the ball 20 metres out with a minute to play - could've / would've been the ball game

Coulda/woulda/shoulda - doesn't matter. Plenty of moments like that both ways, it's just the one that stung the latest.

Interesting that he brings the stats sheets in with him and doesn't go many weeks without referring to them.

Judd running into open goal and missing twice was just as crucial in the last quarter as Harvey misjudging the bounce.
