We need to recruit tough nuts in order to carry out the physical intimidation. Robbo is the closest that resembles this on the list an unfortunately is the only one that can do it - he needs mates in this area. The rest are in their shells and its out of character for them to do this. WEAK!! :banghead:

Very hard to stay with the hawks with Murphy missing for 2/3 of game and robbo playing with one shoulder.

The umpiring was terrible, but I think we could have converted more shots.

Once again our forward line was relatively dysfunctional against a top 8 team.
Really disappointing, I think maybe we need to bite the bullet and get a new forwards coach next year.
Barker has worked under 2 coaches now with mixed results at best, and I think we can do better.

Not sure what we do against swans.
Maybe time for some experimentation?

what , you mean like, Judd's brain in Robbo's head, and Gibb's legs on Hendo?

Would Robbo's brain in Judd's body even get a game? :?

Hodge should get a few weeks.

1. He was looking at Murphy.
2. Look how his right arm/elbow lifted up after the contact, clearly going for a bump.

doubtful, and I suspect divorce would be imminent.

Menzel & Buckley??????????? - Teased with a couple of quarters each (menzel v GWS doesnt count) showed some serious magic then dropped hard.

Hampson - MUST PERSIST - rucks/talls ALWAYS take YEARS to emerge - Hammer will be a gun in 2-3 (and god will it hurt when he smashes us while playing for Collingwood or Bummers)

Can anyone in our side kick over 50m with a set shot kicking for goal?

Touhy - loving his progress - but he's gotta realise when you turn to see who's on your tail or next to you - then you're gonna get pressure - have a bloody shot from 60 and leave someone 6ft 3 plus in the square ALWAYS.....

and where's the brilliant drop-of-the-pack front and centre crumbing mosquito goals that were coming thick & fast in the first 8 rounds??????

well MM??????? where are they??????
seems youve changed things up a bit and we're just not using that as a means to goal anymore...........

literally cant put myself through this every week

i reckon my devotion and passion and interest took a 25% reductive hit tonight..............

You were going well until you mentioned Cachia and Curnow not being worthy, Hampson being worthy, and questioned MM trying to instil some discipline. Crap post really.

Any vision of the Hodge hit on Henderson only about one minute later? Thats the one i think he may go for.

Jarred *#*&**& Waite - I dont think I have ever seen a more dumb / self-centred / undiscilpined player in the last 30 years I have been watching the Blues - tough isn't riding an unprotected player into the ground after he has disposed off the footy

If you can't get a kick don't cost the team a goal because you are having a hissy-fit

Everytime he goes into a contest whether its spoiling / tackling / chasing I am always hold my breathe that he doesn't get reported / downfield / give away a soft free kick

They only bigger knobs out on the ground than Waite were the umps

Have to disagree ..... he caught him in the act of kicking the football ....... that's why the football turned 45 degrees to where he was going to kick it (ie: he caught him and spun him)

And drove him into the ground with another typical undisciplined Jarrad Waite - if he'd of released him after he kicked he may have got away with it, but Jarrad being Jarrad he just had to to do a dumb / selfish act AGAIN and cost us a goal 20 seconds from the siren

We lost by 15 pts and it may have hd no bearing on result, but when we were charging in the last qtr, the panic stations may have been a bit for for the HAwks had they been 3 pts down rather than 9 pts - its all academic now but Waite is all about himself

PS - If it was 45 degrees than the ball would have gone out deep in the pocket close to 50 arc on the boundary rather then 15 metres out

A bit harsh.

Was it selfish and undisciplined that he got there to lay the tackle in the first place? Have a look at the chase.

Yes, Waite did push the guy in the back, but if we want to get all Ray Chamberlain about it that was AFTER he laid a fair tackle on a bloke that had had plenty of prior opportunity to dispose of the ball.

The push in the back was clumsy, but I can't fault him for that after the effort he made to get to his opponent and compete.

At the time I thought it was a fair bump.

In the past the tribunal/MRP have shown that doesn't matter too much IF the player walks away with an injury to the head.

I can't say I'll be surprised whatever the outcome will be because it's just a grown up game of chook lotto. But I do think Hodge has more to worry about now the extent of Murphy's injury has become clear.

Against Port Adelaide, Brisbane, Essendon* and now Hawthorn, we should have kicked at least another 5 goals in each game. Levi's pack marking is encouraging. He must be played for the rest of the year. He Get him fitter and develop his kicking.
I'm hoping Gibbs' game was the defining game of his career. I'm not a Gibbs fan but that was impressive.

We are acouple of players away from a good side

Loved Cachia's game & if Levi can get a tank & that overpaid coach Barker can teach him to kick he might become a good AFL footballer

Chamberlain & Nicholls should be sacked

Agree with all you said... especially the highlighted part

Bring on free agency and a mini rebuild

Would love to see a audit of how/when they're frees are paid. My opinion changed dramatically at that North WestCoast game. Anyone think that was just a few " bad decisions" at the end are kidding themselves. Like last night, the dodgy calls were the entire game against the Kangas....they just took it to a new level in the last 5 minutes.
Last night we are being killed from the 1st quarter ...Scotland called to play on, holding the ball decision, and Franklin in the back, ...in the first 5 minutes....nothing similar done against the Hawks in identical plays within minutes and sometimes seconds.

Hawks too the opportunities given to them by the umps...we didn't take the opportunities we created. How many we're given to us.??????

Pathetic...Read in the paper someone threw a bottle....what a shame they didn't snot one of them. Then it would have to go to court with all of the analysis that would bring....

Only thing to do is curl into a ball and cry. Sydney are even harder at the contest than Hawthorn.

Really don't see the big deal about the Hodge/Murphy collision either. Free kick. Good hard footy.

The Hendo one was reminiscent of Brown on Jamo the other week. Probably a week.

Lucas' continued squibbing is becoming disturbing. His last qtr marking effort against Hill was shocking. Have to agree with Synbad. We need to remove these types & attempt to get someone better.

Gartlett is one of my favourites but holy smoke does he go missing in the big games when the heat is on. What do we do with him long term?

Hendo extremely good again but gifted opposition another goal this week. Needs to eradicate this

Hawks blocking, disposing of ball (throws), bumping etc is very much on the margin. Umps either turn a blind eye or don't see it. Flower it our captain should approach umps at the breaks & ask for a please explain. If nothing else at least highlight the injustices.

Just like to add another point. Why don't our defenders get some assistance from our rucks. Surely they can float down to the back line and assist.....crickey our defence had to contend with buddy, roughy, hale, gunston a chop out or spoil would of been appreciated.

If Betts got 5 weeks for this:

And Ziebell got 3 weeks for this:

Hodge should be looking at least 6 weeks.

I'm disillusioned with the AFL today.

I thought the same about the WCE Nth game....there were bigger things going on there, and my take on last nights game was moreso continued and very obvious bias against Carlton from umpires.

Now thinking about how big gambling is in the AFL and the infiltration of sport by gangsters I believe there were greater forces at work last night.

Then there's the lab rats...and everyone knows the Bumbers have breached the law...wh did the umpires rip Carlton off then too????

Something to do what position on the ladder we end?

Where theres smoke theres fire.

I can't put all this passion and pain into a team only to be cheated.
I want justice or I'm going to have to ween myself off this addiction.
My mother told me in 1973 it was unhealthy to love a footy team as much as I loved Carlton.

Spot on. The turd knew exactly what he was doing, and what outcome he was hoping to achieve.
His right shoulder had all the momentum in the split second post the hit.
Flowering media trying to cover for him today
Had another look at it. His intention was to take Murphy out first and get the ball second. If his intention was just the ball and the ball only why weren't both his arms down trying to get the ball? Because his right arm and shoulder was tensing up to knock out Murph
