So I will be in town for this game. Can I expect just to rock up on the day and get in with my home membership? I expect I may need to pre-book???

As long as you're there early enough Camel, should be all good. The top section of the Ponsford is general admission which your home membership should get you into. Get there too late and at worst you could miss out completely or end up needing the Hubble telescope to see anything

Thanks. My flight arrives at 4:10pm so I should be in the city before 5:30pm I guess. Should be heaps of time.

Can't understand why Rowe is seen to be ready. Apart from some competitiveness in the first practice match (and that is not a fair guide) I am not sure he has done much else. I think I would prefer a lead up ChF (remember wiggins at the start of his last year) rather than another tall to encourage bombing it long. Could Duigan do that? Or white? Or 2e? Failing that I would go for warnock ruck and kruze ChF or Kruze ruck and hammer ChF over Rowe.

Agree with this 100%. Rowe hasn't played much footy of late and it is questionable whether he was AFL standard in the first place. I would be expecting him to get some form and fitness in the 2s and kick a couple if bags of 3 - 4 or more before considering him, that is of course unless we cop some early injuries again or levi / hammer have a very ordinary first month or so

I also think white probably showed more promise when he went forward in the nab cup

Plus Walker if they are going to play him in the forward line has been squeezed out with so many talls.

Who will Richmond play on Betts? Who do they usually play on him?

They cant play Rowe, Hampson, Kruezer and Casboult.
Far too tall a line up. Richmond will have too many ball movers.

Rowe wont play, Bell will.

..not sure Rowe has the fitness up to play the roaming, con tested CHF role.. ..for that matter, not entirely sure Caboult is ready for that either, not week in week out.. ..we really need to sort out the CHF and HF line issues, this is what makes us bomb blindly, and it's not a MM thing cos we've been doing it ever since we moved lance back..

..over the years, we've looked good at times when we've run the ball fwd, cos we lack smart working, strong marking options across that section of the field.. ..or rather, we don't use what options we have there.. ..this is our biggest problem by far.. ..it's why we have either aimless shallow F50 entries, or we're stuck bombing long and deep but with little purpose.. ..and turnovers here are what really kills us..

..trading out kennedy [neccessary], and then moving hendo down back [debatable], is why we're no closer to have a seasoned CHF, than we were 5 years ago [at least]..

No doubt you've heard. Mike Sheahan rates the Thursday night game this year as the most important and significant first round game he can ever remember. He rationalises that a significant loss for either team would seriously derail the 2013 season.

Mike seriously needs to give it away. 2009 was much, much bigger than this year. In fact it DID derail Richmond for the entire season.

I can't see either team having their season derailed with a loss tomorrow. Mick is too good a coach for that to happen with us, and I don't think Richmond is nearly as frail mentally as they were a few years ago under Wallace.

Yep Morris.

I would expect Morris and Ellis will work between Betts and Jeffy.

That is the big question for me with selection. Will Malthouse go with a forward line with :-

1- Rowe, Casboult, Resting ruck and Walker
2- go with Casboult, resting ruck and Walker like Ratts did
3- not play Walker forward at all.
4- Casboult White Walker and resting ruck.

I reckon Malthouse will go with option 1 or 4. Slight chance of 3. Will be using option 2 by round 5.

With poor conditions expected they could go in with one less tall.

Has Adelaide's season been derailed by a loss in their first game?

No for Rowe.
My tip for announced lineup.

B - Tuohy Jamison Laidler
HB - Yarran Henderson Duigan
C - Simpson Carrazzo Lucas
HF - Garlett Hampson Robinson
F - Walker, Casboult, Betts
Foll - Kreuzer, Murphy, Judd
Int - McLean, White, Armfield. Sub: Bell

Emerg: Warnock, Rowe, Curnow

Got the same impression from Mick's presser today. Boys are ready. Mick's pumped. I am pumped. Bring it on!

Eddie for 1st goal - after Kreuzer palms it down Murph's throat who kicks to Sugar who gives a lace out pass to Betts. :)

Silence the tigers early - once were up and about we'll be hard to stop.
