You are a better person than me - I have a problem with a significant % of what is written on this board. Standards seems to have dropped over the years.

Its why I'm nowhere near as active on here as I'd otherwise be - discussion/analysis appears to have fallen to the wayside for kneejerk emotional rants/typical keyboard warrior hatred.

Yep, me too

Someone brought up an interesting question once...

Exactly how much impact would members of the Aussie cricket team have to endure?

I have been listening to radio all morning. When you lose on a Friday night there is alot more scrutiny the next day. Walls is consistent with his support for Ratten and as other posters have mentioned he puts the blame on others for the position the club is in. Injuries, poor form etc, no mention of poor structures. Terry Wallace was interesting, and i dont normally rate what he has to say but today he was spot on. Others mentioned his take on our recruiting of rucks over the past 5 years. He said that most clubs rucks come from rookie selections or later draft picks. We have used picks 1, 17, 24, 56 for rucks and lost Jacobs who was probably the best one, going by current form.
He mentioned a hole in our list of players aged 21-24 because of
our trading.
I turned over to 3AW and the main thing they raised is our lack of any key forwards and using ruckmen who shouldnt be expected to hold down this position. Mike Sheehan said there is a board meeting this week, not sure if was planned or not. They went into detail about the lack of player development.
Matthew Lloyd is clearly still happy about round 4 pointing out that Essendon* smashed them when we had a full list (which we didnt) and showed up our structures.
I really feel for Kreuzer, many callers ringing in bragging about having Cotchin and saying he is Josh Fraser mark 11.
3AW also mentioned that Ratten is not doing any media today.

wallace is a muppet (exhibit a bulldogs & exhibit b tigers) his comment about the hole in our list in players aged 21-24 is shit. gibbs, murphy, kreuzer, henderson, laidler, yarran, garlett, robinson, lucas. thats 9 you can rebuild a side around if we needed to but we dont just yet. hes a knob. start of last year he had us missing the 8. start of this year he thought we would challenge. list has been the same basically the whole way through. like i said, muppet!

actually kneejerk reactionary posts have been the status quo on this site for years - happens after every loss. Those that have criticism of aspects of the club seldom, if ever post those criticisms after a win though.

what's so kneejerk about an era where we win one elimination final go over ten years?

you are kidding aren't you?

there are maybe seventy five seasons in a lifetime. ten of those you don't realise as you're too young. ten you're too old with Alzheimer's. that leaves fifty five seasons.
eleven me those we are ratts shit!

that's one of five years of your football appreciating life are smoked buddy!

what's so ducking knee jerk about that!?

that's assuming you live till seventy five!

knee jerk! ?

you probably are assuming time is meaningless!

if you don't want to post because you think everything is going great and people are knee jerk or negative that's your choice?

but don't start talking about evenness in loving the club and then getting condescending! it just means you're taking the piss!

OK?

you go to the footy and don't care!

well you're special! good luck to you!
most people aren't pieces of wood!
or blocks of concrete.

they get emotional!

Nothing wrong with Kreuzer till he did his knee in 2010. The guy is still having issues with it and really should be rested and if we were in better shape probably would be. Hopefully next year some of those issues may disappear.

Ah... The old Grant Thomas "injury management services" play. Hopefully it doesn't work.

It's not the sole reason for our downfall, but there is no denying that injuries have played a very big part in our decline this season. Not only blokes out with long-term injuries but blokes playing while injured because there are no other options. I would not know how exactly you would apportion blame between Ratten and his assistants and the fitness and conditioning staff and have no doubt that Ratten will not be coaching us next season. But injuries have killed us.

But growing frustrations surrounding Carlton's injury management and fitness levels is expected to shift the Blues' internal spotlight on to the strength and conditioning departments, before any review of Ratten's coaching tenure.

I think we underestimate just how much the media still write about the club what the board want them to.

We don't quite get Essendon* levels of favourable coverage, but at the same time - the criticism of us isn't probably to the level where it should be.

They sent several journos over on a junket to Malaysia when that sponsorship deal, and I think a few went to Qatar, with a few more given unprecedented levels of access to the camp. Doubtful we'll see too many articles critical of Sticks and Swann any time soon.

The teams fitness has been attrocious I think this much is obvious - Judd against West Coast, Yazz's prolonged conditioning, Duigans prolonged conditioning, reoccuring Laidler njuries, Walker and Jamison suffering from shortened pre seasons and struggling to get conditioned after 2 months, Waites prolonmged absence..list goes on Needs to be fixed asap.

Not sure how we can claim injuries gets the ball behind our defence time and time again 8 weeks straight...
And has guys languishing in the reserves with nothing wrong.. Bower... T Bird.. Kerr... McKiness.... Lucas....Collins
He doesnt need to play 3 rucks.. 1 clearly injured but he does anyway.
Our mids are being smashed and there is only one missing....
They dont have to drop Collins to bring in Bootsma.. who is clearly not ready and sub him off early...

Geez hows that for flower spin.. just pisses me off even more!!!

The club just cant accept accountabilty

Excuses after excuses.. after excuses.. after excuses.

raaaable.... Raaaaaable.. RAAAAAAAABLE!.......RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABLE!!

FMD theyre weak as piss!!!!

No wonder were not going anywhere....

Fingerpointing everywhere.... lets blame the fitness guy we have contracted 4 or 5 years straight......he will do!!!!
Now if that doesnt work Ratten we might have to look at you... but lets toss a few others under publically first!!!

Curnow..... Hampson......

I actually reckon Laidler's is just some weird thing that's wrong with his knee structurally and not the fault of anyone.

maybe its weird now... but it wasnt before now.....

round 1 after NAB before that was ok.... never heard of his knee being weird then....

since that NAB and the early comeback i agree its weird....

Its not fitness that told our defenders to play up the ground only to see hawthorn kick over our so called defense and find themselves alone time and time again into an open goal..

This happens just about every first quarter then gets adjusted later in the game.

What about the other game plan where all our players flood back only to get the ball and find no one forward, as all our players are running up and down the ground like headless chooks.

What about the way we kick the ball to our forward line on betts head rather than in front of him.

Same thing every year.
