The most frustrating game of footy I have seen for a very, very long time. I agree JJ - how the umpires felt they were not going to get ridiculed for that performance is beyond comprehension. I feel for Ratten but I his days are numbered - I hope the players are proud of themselves!

What do you think about Warnock.
Do you have an opinion ?

Good when not injured

Surely they will 'import' umpires for any home final played there?

We are now the 3rd club to question about the umpires over in the west.

Players are tweeting their frustrations about them.

Obviously the AFL have gotta be,at least wondering there is an issue with the umpires over there,,,,,,,

wouldn't they ?

One decision last night highlights the problem and advantage interstate clubs have - the Eddie Betts free kick / goal in the 3rd quarter against Glass when clearly the arm was on the shoulder and neck - crowd booo to a level the umpire want to hide after making the right call!!!!!!!! Now remind me again how interestate teams do not have advantages????

Eagles hit us hard and crowded us in the 1st qtr and 2 marks for the qtr shows we had no control and rushed everything. We also have no one forward to take contested marks and we have ineffective structures to cope. The eagles play a very structured game.

In second qtr we finally stopped bombing it forward and started to control the ball and move it forward more intelligently. The players belief went up and we played an awesome 3rd qtr, and the weagles made adjustments and they got control back and managed the win. What worries me is that, we almost won that through a spirited effort. Thats not sustainable for a season, we need other things in place to enable us to play solid footy, pressure sustaining footy, even when we are not 100%

To me it was so obvious our game plan is based on our A team in midfield. When they are missing or not playing well, we dont have the depth or structures to deal with it.

The eagles on the other hand have a list and game plan that can deal with injuries. We were lucky that kennedy did not play and qball was injuried, it would have straightened them up and they would have mauled us.

The footy dept and coaching panel have demonstrated they are not producing the right outcome.

Worsfold almost lost his job but he did not try and pinch games when developed the eagles again. I try and make do with makeshift forwards and the like and rely heavily on A team midfield carrying us through for victory. We have been exposed. We need to bite the bullet and develop for premiership NOT winning 8 games to sneak into the 8. Is ratts prepared to lose his job for carlton?

um, source?

Claimed on ch10 that he's only interested in 1 year contracts when this current deal expires next year.

Seems as he has the wait and see attitude... don't think he'll stick around if we're in a re-building phase imo

Or rather than tweet about confusing umpiring, they should start tweeting about a confusing game plan. Now that would start the fission process! Kaboom

Good post.

No and thats part of the problem. He's desperate for wins and can't plan for the future coz he doesn't have one if he doesn't win.

I don't think he's ever been considered by the club, the board, the players or the spectators as the best man for the job, he was just Johnny on the spot who would keep his mouth shut while we tanked.

We keep re-signing him because he's met the targets set. I've been happy to keep it going while we were but clearly he doesn't have IT.

He must be moved on ASAP. There's nothing stopping us from canvassing applicants during the season.

We have to keep trying to win Cimm. Our club doesnt value wins enough. All goes back to the dark days and where the occasional win was celebrated like a GF and Fev led the after parties.

Win as many as we can. Get a streak on and just miss the 8 for all i care but we need to win at all costs. Any talk of bettering our draft position or putting in skinny kids in exchange for a win will do just as much damage as it would team development.

If the next process to finding a coach s true.
Or somehow we make the right selection....

This will all remedy itself easier.

Ratts is just as much a coach as any of us... lets face it

Look at the way he has prepared this team.
5 years means its his team!!!

Whats his stamp on this team????

Just get rid of him .. before he inflicts more damage,,,!!!

sorry disagree

the goal is to win premierships

so plan accordingly - short term pain is necessary

of course I expect the team who wear the CFC colours to go for the win - but I dont want players who have no long term futures getting games ahead of younger ones who need to develop

Time to tank I say - we need more top picks - we just don't have enough!!! If we tank right and top up will win multiple premierships - that's how the system works. Can't you people see that!!!!!

So bank 11 home games (umpires not included ofcourse) + plus 4 or 5 against bottom opposition = finals finishes vs 11 (6 at Etihad & 5 MCG) where we hate playing and everyone plays (equal ground) + 5 interstate games = well f**k if I know, cause I'm not smart.

Disagree and by a lot. Always have. Top picks get you no-where at the end of the day unless they are willing to play for each other and as one. You can have the best skilled side and it guarantee's nothing because the heart and sole of the place are players such as Carrazzo, Simpson & Jamison!

i know people who know people when it comes to judd

family is more important than football to him

we are a basketcase of a club right now and if come contract expiry judd is still being beat up week after week with no support and we dont look like being succesful then its curtains.

he has a flag, has brownlows, etc etc he has acheived

he came to melbourne for his family , not for carlton - liked the idea of dragging us back to the top - it was something else to try and achieve on top of everything else he already had

its gone horribly wrong

judd would be happier waking up to the fin review each day and spending time with bec and oscar than going through more and more years of where we are at right now.

make no mistake the club is a mess right now

i had lunch with a former player today, a club legend and premiership player and he was scathing of the club and where its at - he was adamant sweeping changes will be made at the end of the year.

and we need it if we dont want to waste judd any further than we already have.
