Thanks Watson.

Kerr came in the top 10 for the time trial. Is he an elite runner?
He might come in.

Haven't had a first gamer at all this year have we?

I'm predicting the 'drive tackle' will be 'in' starting this week across the comp. Now coaches know it is OK, they should use it as a legitimate tactic to target good players. It's easier than tagging. We should be the first to employ it (well the second really as it was used against us last week).I'm suggesting we start with Ballantyne and then Pavlich. The fact Pavlich is a scrupulously fair player who would never do it himself shouldn't worry us as Carazzo was one as well and they are the easiest to get as they don't expect it. Any other player who looks like wining his position should follow and so on until the entire team is injure if necessary.

In between all this, we need to protect the corridor better than we did last week. For years we have been vulnerable down the gust because we rarely use it ourselves. If we don't use it, we don't want to defend it. Freo has been a team that has exploited this over the years with their running from half back down the middle in waves. The Ross Lyon game plan probably doesn't involve it as much but we certainly showed a weakness there last week he would be keen to exploit. We can also expect some big hits early so it won't be a place for the faint-hearted. Bryce take note.

The mids will have to play a lot better. Sandilands was injured last time we played them and he still dominated. This time he isn't. Hampson needs to lift his game and get his feet off the ground and jump over the top of him. Kreuzer just has to do what he can.

This is a real danger game for us. We lose and we are in the scrum of the 6-12th placed teams and we don't want that to happen.

If we start diving on blokes backs in the hope of injurying them I'll be really disappointed. Firstly because I believe we are a better club than to sink to that sort of thing and secondly because of all the free kicks we'll be giving away. Better to roll to the side, pin the ball and go for a holding free.

Agree that this is a pivotal game for us.

Had my tongue been any further in my cheek, it would have pushed its way through the skin....

No Sandilands, hey.

Against the three number ones, hey.

That will be interesting.

Yarran, Laidler and Carrots collectively = Sandilands. Both in importance, and height.

Zac Clarke is 203 cm and has been playing very VERY good footy. Is Griffen still injured,? he's not in their class but he's no spud.

I think Fyfe playing is good.
Surely he is not right.

Wasn’t intending to but managed to get to training this morning.

Some brief observations:

- Armfield, Walker, Curnow, AJ, JR, Ellard and Thornton all trained. Yarran sat in the stands.
- Enthusiasm was great and the skills were pretty good for the most part. A touch sloppy at times.
- Fair bit of goal kicking practice before, during and at the end, which I thought was great. What wasn’t so great was how many goals were missed. Too many for my liking. Main offenders Waite, Eddie and Simmo. Though got better in the later stages. I will be watching our conversion very closely tomorrow…
- Ratts still very sharp on the left!
- I know he’s missed a bit of footy but Walks looks a million bucks. Interesting to see how he goes running the game out tomorrow.
- Overheard Ellard at the end of training with some of his family, sounds like he’s definitely playing.

Always great to see my beloved Blues in person. We desperately need to bounce back tomorrow so hopefully ‘good carlton’ rocks up and takes care of business. Will be there cheering them with the young fella.

Any other TC crew go?

This looks like the squad that flew over, if someone from training could confirm any names they didn't see from the list or did see that aren't there:

Armfield
Robinson
Betts
Duigan
Murphy
Lucas
Hampson
Judd
Garlett
Tuohy
Ellard
Russell
Gibbs
Walker
Curnow
Simpson
Henderson
Joseph
Waite
Scotland
Thornton
Kreuzer
Bower

3 changes it seems, with Russell the emergency.

Come to think of it, don't recall seeing Bower? Perhaps I just missed him. Kreuz was out there.

well there's 6 players training who weren't in the side last week - looks like wholesale changes are planned
