Last years game against Richmond was our home game. Our first home game this year is against Collingwood and the club have advised everyone to get a seat as there wont be any general admission on the day, ditto for the Essendon* game in round 4. I doubt there will be as many signing up tomorrow unless they are buying the 17 game membership.
Kevin Bartlett was giving it to Greg Swann on radio this morning saying that Richmond has nearly 47,000 members and we have less than 40,000. Of course he forgot to mention that Richmond will have their numbers brought down somewhat by the AFL when the official numbers come out mid year.

We passed the 30k mark on 6th feb - some 7 weeks later yet to crack 40k

wont make 50k

Fancy knocking up a non-linear trend line (I presume this is spreadsheet output) of the two? Would be very easy to see how it could project based on last year's result.

Hopefully last night will see a bit of a spike, particularly from the doomsayers. Don't underestimate the importance of this week against the Lions either, as a solid win there would give us a heap of momentum before our first home game (Filth) where you would hope our membership dept puts the whole G under siege.

As i have said before, Richmond include non match access members in their numbers. Each year they gloat about having more members than other clubs only to have the AFL downgrade their numbers by thousands each year. Wait until the OFFICIAL membership numbers come out and we will see who has the most members.
