Who has been playing well defensively for the Bullants?

Could Austin be given his first game of the year off the back of his VFL performances, and being named as Emergency last week?

Doesn't look good for Ellard given his theme tune is rubbish...

I hope that we dont make too many changes.

Its a bummer that Duigan is out as well. We will miss his toughness.

Has Laidler been mentioned, we sure could use him in the side.

A good game by Tuohy this week, or Laidler/Bower comes in and does well, could be tough for Duigan to reclaim his spot?

Waite, Bower or Austin have to come in. Duigs has been playing tall, hence we need to replace him. My guess is bower will play if Waite don't come up. If not down back, Jamo, Thornton as our talls, with Yarran, Russ, Touhy, Gibbs/Houlilhan.. seriously I know we have been playing small, but there is a point where it becomes gambling.

No I don't think so; Duigan is doing all the right things and has clearly slimmed down over the last few months, which has made him a much better player for the loss. He's gone from strength to strength in an AFL environment and it's good to see (pay attention Twomey & Cachia).

With Duigan out and Ellard OK to play my changes would be as follows:

Out
Duigan (inj)
Hampson (inj)

In
Armfield
Warnock

- Give Waite another week to ensure he is 100%
- Armfield as sub
- Houlihan the defensive half forward on Hurn
- Move Russell back to defence in Duigan's spot

I reckon you have nailed it.

I didn't realise Armfield went by the name Paul Smith!

See 15 seconds into that clip!

that doesn't have Thornton though. I'm not the biggest fan of Thornton but if we won the big one would love to see him finally rewarded for bustin his guts with us through the Dark Ages. (meaning playing on the day and holding the cup on the podium).

Good calls by Psycho but half this site had the Yaz to half back in mind once he got the tank up. Touhy was a no brainer and again most folk who have watched him play were just waiting for him to get a chance.

And its fantastic to see it become a reality.

What it does tell me club is that some of TC's Ants watchers/ posters have a good eye and their reports should be read with interest.
I couldn't comment on Tuohy because I didn't get to too many Ants games in 2010, like I did in previous years. He looked fantastic in the preseason which I did comment on.

Duigan out with a calf injury. Damn!!

I don't like calf injuries...I hope its a precautionary rest for him.

Waite expected to be named on extended bench but probably will not be risked.

I'm guessing Armfield comes in and Russell and Gibbs play HBF.

Warnock for Hampson.

It seems as though Ellard has recovered. No mention today of him being rested.
