Same for me except I would swap Garlett for Lucas.

You may be on to something:

Carlton will have neither Chris Judd, Brendan Fevola, nor Nick Stevens in Thursday night's AFL season-opener. Instead, there will likely be four men playing in a navy jumper for the first time.

The likely fourth would surely be Lucas?

Cant see them playing 4 small forwards in Yarren Betts Garlett and Murphy
Armfield most likely for Garlett and Scotland and AJ will be part of the midfield rotation
This year is about lock down

As much as Garlett will help up forward, we already have enough attacking type players in the squad, whereas we lack a little run and carry in that we're relying on players pushing up or forward for relief, with only one midfielder on the bench in Robinson if Garlett was the selection. Lucas brings the additional midfield rotation we need.

I'd like to see Gibbs play an attacking HB role and can set up a lot of our forward thrusts.
Simpson has been playing a bit of HB in pre season filling the role earmarked for Johnson.
Like to see Hadley play but think Ratts will pick McLean. Hard to have both of them on MCG.
Grigg will play as he is a Ratten favourite and we need the extra on baller. Given that Houlihan will probably play as well.
Like to see Yarran, Garlett and Betts all play on the MCG and it will be dry.
Armfield not fit enough yet.

Very disappointed that O'Keefe and Austin have had injury interrupted pre seasons!!!

I was under the impresssion that Grigg was the opposite to a Ratten favourite. Id play houla ahead of grigg. Grigg will get chances through the year. Hope he takes them.

I'd take Houla ahead of Grigg too.

What are Grigg's fans expecting Grigg to do when he gets the ball in his hands?
He has to dispose of it by hand or foot, and it's a free against if he throws it.
Grigg's disposal is not AFL standard from what I've seen, so why pick him?

No Judd, Murph suss with restricted game time likely, one game where the silk of Gibbs desperately needed in the guts. It's only the Tiges....

..Grigga tends to rush his disposal, he will often just bang it onto his left boot [he doesnt have a right foot] and hope for the best.. ..if you think this is 'whipping' him, then yer too sensitive.. ..or you're Grigga..

For what it's worth, here's my go at it:

B: Carazzo Jamison Thornton
HB: Scotland Bower Russell
C: Gibbs Murphy Simpson
HF: Walker Waite Betts
F: Gartlett Henderson o'hAilpin
R: Kreuzer Judd Joseph
I: McLean Grigg Warnock Robinson
Emerg: Lucas Hadley Hampson

Can't wait for the season to start.

Thursday night!!

10 AM tomorrow, suspect it will be a light run, or as they're calling it lately: "piggy back rides and goal kicking"

i share everyone elses concerns re Grigg's disposal. however, i am getting a vibe off these boards that he's gonna be the one to cop it this year. i do remember a time when Jordan Russell apparently couldn"t kick and had no football smarts... Lets hope Grigga can improve his disposal because there's no doubt that he needs to do so if he wants to be a regular in the team.

Go Blues!!
