Condolences to the Pratt family, and to the many who have had their lives enriched by your mere presence.

And from your other family, everyone associated with the Carlton Football Club, including players, officials, boot-studders and supporters, owe you our thanks. We would not be here today if not for your generousity and love. With every young fella who pesters his parents for a Carlton guernsey for Christmas, your legacy will continue to echo.

We will fulfill the promise we made to you, the Carlton Football Club will be the greatest sporting organisation in the land once again, and it's all because of you. As a Collingwood supporter on Bigfooty aptly put it
Quote:
God help the other 15 Clubs.

:thanks:

Vale Richard Pratt and deepest condolences to the Pratt family.

His contributions to Australian life are extraordinary and many and are an example to the rest of the nation as to how we should live our lives.

We will miss him at Carlton for his deeds ring loud and true, however if should be the that the nation will miss philanthropists of his nature more.

Thank you to the Ricrhard and the Prattt Family.

My sincere condolences to the Pratt family.

What can I say about his contribution to the Carlton Football Club? I can say that he turned the club I love from being the joke of the competition, from one which I would literally cringe when I heard the President speak, back to being respected, feared and on the path to success. No one who loves the club and who lived through the dark period will ever forget Dick, his family and their contribution to this footy club.

Thanks Dick, may you rest in peace. It is at least comforting to know that the last game that you saw your beloved Blues was a win, even if it was on the TV. Hopefully the players respond this weekend and give tribute to Dick one last time.

Time for Swann, Sticks and company to think of a fitting permanent memorial to Dick.

We've lost one of our greats today, but he won't be forgotten as long as the Carlton Football Club is around.

RIP Dick.

The Blueseum and memories might be all we would have left of Carlton if it wasn't for your kindness, passion, knowledge, time and generosity.

It is a tad strange to see no mention of Pratt's daughter Paula as his next of kin...

Rest in peace Dick
Many people are better off due to your kindness, and goodness in helping those that needed help.
I didnt realise what the Pratt foundation had actually done until I read some of the amazing stories from people who were helped by Dicks foundation.

Australia has been a better place due to you and your kindness to others.

Vale Dick, you will be missed. Condolences to the Pratt family.

My original post was ''snipped", I made it in sadness and ANGER.

My anger being directed at a certain individual whom I named. My MISTAKE.
Sorry mods.

Great that the Blues sent you out with a win. Your love and generosity towards the Carlton Football Club will not be forgotten. Sympathies with family and friends.

Not a bad seat to watch the game from up there.

I've been thinking about Pratt's death and what he represents to Carlton, purely and simply he is a saviour, I don't have faith in any religion, but Cartlon is pretty much as close to a religion i will ever come, so to me Pratt is my God.

Now this is all great for me having the chance to shake the mans hand and thank him and all pay my respects, but what about my kids who are both under 3? I would love the club to invest into a statue outside the club so when I do take my kids to Princes Park when they older and understand, I can point to the statue and say, this man saved my club, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be standing here today.

RIP Mr.Pratt.

I still remember the joy of Mr.Smorgon being dumped, and that being bettered shortly after with news of your arrival. Add to that the almost immediate difference you made to the Carlton admin staff - let alone the players and fans - and your impact cannot be questioned.

On a personal level I had the pleasure of exchanging emails with his EA to get his Blueseum bio right - always good with time for his favourite causes!

Thanks for reversing the ignominy.

Molsey
