It's not Thornton AND Fisher.

Thornton has fought and deserves.

They said Hawthorn have offered him a lot more money and that Carlton and T-Birds management are still quite a way apart in terms of an agreement

That's pretty much on the money unfortunetly......

Ah that's great...

If he's insistent on going, then pick 6 from Hawthorn. No more or no less. Hawthorn know that Essendon* will get him in the PSD otherwise

That's probably the only thing I could live with if Thornton left, pick 6 in this draft.

Having said that, would rather it not happen - but if Thornton comes 7th in the B&F, where does that leave him in the pecking order?

Geez...

Thornton would be great for Hawthorn. Of all their young blokes I reckon Roughead is the guy that is going to rip teams apart. Currently he's floating around half back, but he looks like your classic CHF.

If the hawks are keen on Thornton, this will be why.

While I like T-Bird, every player is tradeable for the right price, so if the Hawks are keen let's find out how keen.

Hawthorn are too well run to give us anything valuable.

Just sign T Bird up... shopping him around has no benefit to us.

All were doing is teaching him that he is a commodity.

Just keep our good young players and draft...

You see, that's what we can see...but I doubt the Board does or the Football Department...

If they can't value TBird highly enough to offer him a reasonable and fair contract, then they should be fired.

He's not insistent on going, HE LOVES THE CLUB and wants to play only for Carlton believe me......

However he is very frustrated at the moment as Carlton will just not come to the party...

You wouldn't blame him if he changed his mind after that...

Wouldn't be the first player to be offered more money by another club. Most of them end up staying.

Fair call, but he will stay if he can help it.

After all, all his mates are at Carlton too....

they can have thornton and one of sporn/prendergast et al for pick 6

hartlett , flint , o'hailpin , pick 6 , whitnall , waite can be our defense

pick 6 would have to get us a good defender though

Nathan Brown - like his twin Mitch - is genuine KP size, played very well at the champs but as is often the case with mature bodied blokes, people worry that their potential for improvement is low. I'm a big fan, reminds me of Matt Maguire and I'd personally prefer the club took him over a guy like Andrejs Everitt who has the 'potential' to be something special, but also a chance that he may not succeed at all. Couldn't tell you whether he'd be around at pick 35, but it's almost a cert that one of the Brown's will be there at 17-19, it's just a question of who's there with them, we could end up having Collard and Connors available at 17-19 in which case you'd go for them, but if it's a choice between Hislop and Houli, I'd pick Brown based on need.

Just because he's unlikely to be a defensive CHB in the Leppitsch mold doesn't mean that he won't be a CHB. In an era where Chad Cornes and Joel Bowden are considered by the fools who pick the All Australian team as the best CHBs in the league he could still end up as a quality AFL level CHB.

Getting PP's two years in a row is not enough for the Dawks. They are beginning to really agitate me now!
