I've tried to map the list visually.
Key take aways:
- We are counting on Motlop and Moir to step up big time and Williams to stay fit. Small forwards are more important than ever and it's still a weakness
- Lack of a quality 2nd key back is glaring. McGovern and/or JSOS will need to play tall. God help us if Weiters goes down
- Pick 3 and Ben Campo need to be able to have an immediate impact next year because they will get plenty of opportunities
- Kemp, Cincotta and O Hollands miss my best 22 but I expect them to play most of the year. I think Cotters gets first dibs on the wing, and O Hollands may play a bit of half back if a running defender goes down.
- Hopefully JSOS can stay fit so we never have to see the Pitto + TDK combine again.
- Not really sure where I would have put Matt Kennedy
Our best 22 looks prelim worthy, so I expect Rob Inness will make or break our 2025.

Good post. I agree that the performance of the fitness/medical staff is a crucial component of success. While our list isn’t perfect, I feel like it’s good enough to challenge if the coaches and high performance staff have a good year. Not sure they did in 2024.
Fingers crossed the Acres injury isn’t a LTI.
I reckon Cotters will play mostly in the front half and O.Hollands wing.
It would be massive if Young had a breakthrough year - perhaps stung by the lack of interest in him from other clubs during the trade period? There is a spot in the side if he is good enough. I haven’t gone back and watched the elimination final (and I never will), but I recall thinking on the night that he wasn’t our worst performer and maybe there’s still improvement left in him.
