is Lord more of an inside mid, than defensive one? he's so clean and creative with his hands and he gets his ball. imo he has a bit of cripps about him the way he extracts it.

Highly unlikely it's the truth. That's not to say difficult conversations aren't had at exit interviews, but petulance is a one-way ticket out of a footy club. In all likelihood, he's probably countered with 3 Our Fathers and 5 Hail Marys.

Who are the 5 x R(a)? Is it Boyd, M.Carroll, Cincotta, S.Dudin & HOK? Don’t we have to promote Boyd & Cincotta to the primary list?

Lord - 2024 MSD, three* years remaining.
M.Carroll - 2023 RD, two* years remaining.
Cincotta - 2023 SSP, one year remaining.
O’Keeffe - 2023 SSP, one* year remaining.
S.Durdin - 2022 MSD, one year remaining.

* there is an allowance for a 4th & 5th year, if the player is under the games limit attached to each of those years.

I think next year is the real clean up.

Williams, McGovern - Stay injury prone and out. Or at the very least much lower contracts.
Fantasia, Young, Durdin, Cottrell, Motlop. Few of those to go.
We potentially reduce the contract for Saad.
And Cerra - Who knows. Will he remain injury prone. If so I would move him on. Hope his issues will be fixed though as we need his point of difference.

Potentially Docherty to retire, or we reduce his contract too. Not sure how much he is paid.

And please please Carlton resign TDK. And TDK dont play hard to get mate and be reasonable.

Then Walsh i guess as well.

Yep , getting TDK and Walsh signed up hopefully is top of our priority list DG .

i hope walsh and his back gets back to where he should be - in the convo of the best pure mid in the comp. i'd happily pay him then.

if he misses anotehr 6+ weeks with the back ... i'm not sure where that leaves the club and sammy in regard to his actual worth.

Agree, was having a similar conversation with someone who gleefully points out our high priced long term contracts at every opportunity.

Also, can we really afford another player in that price bracket? It is starting to erode our depth now

I"d say that leaves the Club and Sam in deep shit . In saying that I believe back problems can be overcome in these modern medicine times . That's what I'm hoping .

OK thanks for that.

I think J.Carroll & S.Durdin don’t have contracts for next season yet. Apparently GWS are poised to swoop on J.Carroll as a DFA. Hopefully we find a way to retain him but list spots are very tight.

fantasia is contracted, and if the salary cap is so tight we probably cant afford to pay him out

why sam durdin is still on the list is very hard to fathom

He’s the bird in hand. Same boat as a couple dozen others around the league, waiting for the October 31 deadline.

Give it a fortnight & if he’s still on the list, go your hardest.

Christ on a bike…

What’s gotten into his head there? If there wasn’t enough cauliflower at GWS, they went and got themselves one more. Back to Perth, or even another Vic club, I could understand. But, no amount of money is worth living & working, surrounded by that.

Losing Kennedy from the group should earn him a reprieve - if he’s willing to sign for 1+1.

We couldn’t possibly be that hard up against the cap? We’ve been going with the bare minimum on the primary list for a while now… at worst, a net gain of $1.5m with four first year contracts plus Haynes. Williams, Saad & Cerra wouldn’t - shouldn’t - be getting a bump from the TPP increase…

I think we’re BIG players in free agency next year.

Weideman has been delisted now, I still think he'd be a better depth defender than Durdin.
