Is Judd even playing next year?

Has he signed on?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he pulled the pin.

Signed for one year.
People talk about trading him. What a joke. He would just walk away from footy rather than uproot himself at this stage of his life and career.
He doesn't need footy or the money.

I hope Wayne Hughes was watching along with Ratts who obviously was.

thought the same as I watched geelong last night - and went back to that draft (along with others).
we can't complain about hughsy as he "snapped" up bootsma and sam rowe.

gibbs over selwood still irks me - those blokes didn't do their homework just went the most popular

The joke is the Carlton football club, what's the point of having a go at people who are desperate for something to change?

I wonder how good he's be under our development, though?

Who cares, that's arbitrary.

We'd probably be in a similar position, and Gibbs would be the best player in the league (if he went to Geelong).

No, it's not at all. It's exactly the point.
Geelong's players all look like stars because of how they are developed and the team culture.
It's not that they happen to pick the eyes out of every draft (although obviously they draft well), but the club makes them good players.

You can't seriously think Judd would allow himself to be traded to GWS at this time of his life. He is on a one year contract with us and many were a bit surprised he signed on for that.

I am not having a go at anybody but to think Judd would uproot himself for that is just hilarious. The man is a multi-millionaire with a young wife and family and will earn more without playing than you and I together. Why would he bother? Just tell me that and I'll retract everything.

Rebuild/refresh whatever the definition, IMO a club needs to remove up to a minimum of 8 players a year. Don't believe we have done this or done this well.

And of the players brought in you need to have a strike rate of at least 50%.....that is 4 players that have an immediate impact on the team.

I struggle to see this at the CFC.

One of the other reasons I favour going hard at the national draft this year, is questioning the motives of any player wanting to come to us via free agency.

We're not flush for cash, whilst the list overall is poor, there's not exactly a plethora of spots in the 22 waiting for someone to come in and make it theirs, and we're more than likely to go down than up over the next few years for players seeking a quick flag.

Basically leaves us with Collingwood refugees who don't like how hard Bucks makes them train. Not the greatest of scenarios.

Remind me again how Davies and Joseph were able to stay on the list for 2013?

Good to read that Mick is going to turn tge list over, and that we re going to be aggressive in the Trade Period.
Get the trading and drafting right and things can turn around pretty quickly.

Both were contracted thanks to Rattens great list management, and no one wanted to go near them during tge trade period.

The following are not up to it, for one reason or another ...

Ellard
Curnow
Davies
Joseph
McCarthy
Warnock
Yarran
Armfield
Mitchell
Watson
Hampson
Laidler
Duigan
Collins
Dale
O'keefe
Rowe

That's 17 that theoretically could go and it wouldnt hurt us LT.

Some of these should have gone last year. Why they didnt... Well, someone has a lot of explaining to do re list management

That list then represents 2 years of list culling, and you can probably add Scotland to the list in the second year. And maybe Judd too. And Waite also maybe. That'll be 20 players then, 10 a year.

If we are fair dinkum that is.

That's how shit our list is !

Seriously am I the only one who saw the YouTube footage of Watson and thought to myself "why the @#$%&! are we obsessed with drafting this slow defender?"

Ridiculous list management. "We need a tall defender so we will go get this guy no matter what. Even if there are better players available we don't care we are getting this guy cause we've neglected drafting tall defenders in previous years"

What did Hughes ever see in Davies btw??

Ok I can see the hardness and ability to run straight lines

But what about those important things like skill, and nous??

We need some blokes that can do some damage once they have the ball, we should be making big offers to get Dale Thomas and Nick Dal Santo as restricted free agents, they will chop up teams if they get 15 kicks.

Here's a novel idea.

Only draft players who can kick well !!

We re feeling the full brunt of Wayne Hughes' crap drafting over the last decade or so.

What did he see in Russell, Bower, Hampson, Bootsma, Hartlett, Watson, Mitchell, Davies, McCarthy etc.
Our first Round picks apart from the No. 1's under him says it all.
2004 - Russell
2008 - Yarran
1009 - Lucas
2010 - Watson
2011 - Bootsma
