Upon recruiting Smith Rogers said the club see him more as a small forward. Given some of his untidy disposal it's probably not a bad idea to take him away from the last line of defence. His attack on the ball will be a welcome change from Garlett in the forward 50 too.

Yeah I don't see how we're supposed to fit Jaksch, Jones & Everitt into the same team if everyone's fit and in form. Carrazzo, Graham, White and Sheehan are other immediate casualties based on end-of-season form.

True

Everitt could be the other big bodied midfielder ala Kouta and Cripps....has pace, good hands and big body.

Great problem to have. Then there's the rookies who may come good which is a trend at Carlton....plus next years BIG FISH plus some.

Empire has been rebuilt. Warnock may have played his last game in 2014....for Carlton anyway.

On the fringe: Carrazzo Bell Everitt Smith Dick DVR White Graham

I get the feeling that Clem Smith may play round one. The kid is confident, has some mongrel and if he can have a good pre season could easily slot straight in in a BP.

I would expect a mature guy picked at 19 to play straight away.

Docherty will play midfield. Started there last year until ran out of puff but with a full pre season will do really well. Big improver.

If Jacksch not fit White will fill his spot. Just leave Kruezer in the ruck with the odd spell up forward.

Good depth with players fighting for spots will make a difference.

Issue for me is still average ball use and lack of real elite level players (Gibbs excluded)

Personally, and given his performance as a 2 way player last year, I can't see how Everrit can possibly be considered on the fringe. If he maintains the work ethic and hunger he had last year he will be one the of the first blokes picked IMO.

Agree Everitt is definitely a core 22 player

..this is why I said Jones is no certain starter.. ..he comes her as a fringe sort and needs to be good enough to crack into the team, we aren't desperate for him in there.. ....give BB some time too, if we hit next year with a mostly fit list spots will be filled by our hurt senior players coming back into the squad..

we seem to have certain positions which are fought over by many and some where we have automatic starters because of lack of competition.

heaps of 190 to 195cm type players

Every player on our list has been stretched out to at least 190cm - even Simpson, daisy and Murphy are at least 190cm. I am not sure if we are using peptides or some sort of mechanical BKB device to achieve this, but something is going on,

and there is Cripps ladies and gentlemen - our secret weapon for 2015

Nobody knows how tall he is - estimates range from 146 cm to 231 cm

agree I think smith will play round 1 and forward pocket where his bustle and grunt will be a handy addition. Buckley into the Back pocket on the small forwards. I have no doubt that MM has had a hand in his recruitment.. he .just has the malthouse stamp all over him.

Had to re-read that.

interestingly Trigg singled out BB and Tutt as likely starters this year.

I don't think Watson will be playing rd 1 unless multiple KPP injuries.

..I reckon he's under rated.... ..writing off a young Kpp that has only played 19 games, the majority of them good for where he is.. ..only a few fumbles in the lot.. ....name me the other young, developing tall kids that have kicked four in a match when played out of position.. ..or for that matter, in that age demographic name me our other kpps..

Personally I think Cripps, Bell, Curnow & Carrots in the one side can't work. So replace Boekhorst with one.

Tutt (if he has a good preseason) has the small forward role waiting for him IMO unless Smitty has an unbelievable turnaround in fitness.
