I think it would be a very big mistake to leave Motlop out.

All i can think of is the pretty standard;

In: McKay, Martin
Out: Kennedy, Cuningham

Hollands stays sub.

Same here. I'd be tempted to bring in Boyd if he'd had more prep. And maybe Dow instead of Hollands just because I've really liked Dow's sub cameos this year. But really hard to go past Ollie after last week.

JSOS the unlucky man.

Agree with all of this. Not expecting any surprises. I think McKay and Martin will be the only ins

It's a good position to be in leaving out players who deserve their spot
Motlop kicked those couple of goals but had several costly turnovers also 24 goals for the year average 1.2 game
Fogarty provides pressure but doesn't hit scoreboard
Hollands was good when he come on but his time will come
Kennedy worked himself into the game and hit scoreboard add a bigger body
Cunningham only 9 touches 2 score involvements but 4 tackles
Owies ( who is a Voss favourite ) goes missing for big chunks but is our 2nd highest goal scoring for the year equal with Harry

You wouldn't like to make the call

Gut feel says it's Cunners and Kennedy for Martin & McKay.

I'm sure they'd take the whole squad to Brisbane for the experience this weekend but the list of travelling emergencies is gonna be pretty good.

sub from: Hollands, Cunningham, Kennedy, Silvagni, Boyd, E. Curnow...

Six blokes who have genuine claims to being best 22. (Ed being more for his energy than his ability at this stage.)

I strongly doubt Vossy will change a winning group. You have last week's 23 plus Jack and Harry.

That's it. The 23 this week will come from that 25. I think Kennedy, Cunners and Holly will miss and the 23rd from those 3.

Regards Cazzesman

I was an advocate for Dow as sub against Melbourne but I have to admit, I couldn’t see Dow doing what Holland’s did at the end of that match!
(Of course, maybe Dow would have burst out of the centre and set up 4 goals instead :-))

Martin can
1. replace Cunningham fwd
2. be used iin the CBA like Cunningham
3. Go back and mop up (unike Cunningham)

McKay replaces Kennedy
Kennedy fwd can be covered by Fog/Cotters/Walsh/Cerra in the rotations
Kennedy mid can be covered by Fog or Martin
Kennedy in a fwd-defensive role could be covered by Cincotta if need be

Hollands runs runs runs, has fresh legs and is cover for Acres/ Doc

THEREFORE
IN: Martin Mckay
OUT: Cunningham Kennedy
SUB: Hollanda

At the end of the day, it won't matter if it's Dow, Hollands, SoS or whomever the key will be that the guys are switched on and haven't been drinking their own bath water after this weeks game.

Yep, agreed. Dow dobbed a great running goal to ice a game a few weeks back. He definitely has the ability.

I won't be at all surprised if we get totally smashed by the Lions. But I thought that Melbourne could flog us too, so I am prepared to BELIEVE this weekend! :smoking:

We’re super lucky the forecast is only 23 degrees given it’s 35 only two days earlier. Playing footy in that kind of heat would be absolutely draining, and even if we got through, you’d imagine it would be a significant disadvantage going into a grand final

I'm more confident about this game than I was about Melbourne

agreed, they of course have a functioning forward line, but i feel like this contest will be won at the centre.

give them clear posession, they will win in a landslide.

we bash them like we did swans / dees we are in it up to our ears.

feel like curnow / mckay / martin might go a little bit mental

Me too, we are very solid defensively and difficult to score against.

Melbourne have a better, tougher midfield than Brisbane and our midfield beat Melbourne's (and Sydney's and Collingwood's earlier)

Don't worry about this GABBA fortress bullshit, we are in this up to our eyeballs.

They have to worry about stopping Walsh, Cerra, Cripps, Docherty, Acres etc etc and countering Weitering, McGovern, Kemp, Marchbank

How do they nullify Saad and Newman

Then we have Curnow, Mckay, Martin, Owies, Motlop they have to stop.

They will forget about Cottrell, Cincotta and Fogarty at their own peril

Then we have those units Pittonet and DeKoning smashing into them and flying over them all game

Just give us the @#$%&! cup !!

Their 3 main scorers are:

Hipwood and Daniher...
highly suspect under pressure, they'll turn to water fairly readily against our backline.

Cameron...
is of course the danger but intercept marks and our own defensive ground level work should starve him of opportunities. If he's not in early he struggles to get in at all.

All three of these bear that similarity - game can easily go off and not recover.

We will EAT this!

We can seriously make the Lions shit themselves. Get out to a lead then remind them it's happening again

You're gonna lose another prelim......
