look....

I'll be honest here... I haven't read
everyone's Posts... but if I go by what
many have written... and the length of
the other ones...?

I can't begin to imagine how much
people would lose their minds... if we
get beaten by 10 goals... or more...!

the way I see it is... replayed one very
badwater... and 3 pretty Durhan good
quarters...!

Melbourne arsed a couple of goals... we
kicked 2 goals six from set shots... with
3 posters...!

we were a few inches away from
preventing quite some angst on this
site...!

yes they jumped us... bloody frustrating
but the boys really with their heads down... and ground away with committed football...!

the loss was frustrating... not abysmal ..
just bloody frustrating...!

kindest regards Tommi

if you're feeling bad... just remember
Martin roving the pack at full speed...
and delivering the ball on the right side
of Levi... off his left boot too...
beautiful...!

From memory Petracca started on Walsh, not Murphy.
Walsh was better value when he was moved to the wing. Petracca torched him in the first 10 minutes.
And yes, Ed did reduce Petraccas influence significantly.

Nah

Murphy v Petracca for first 8 minutes, then Petracca went forward. He had 7 possessions at that stage.
Petracca was still on ball when he took that mark over Ed which resulted in a goal, and Murph was following him.

I think you remember when the loose ball was in the air wing when Walshy looked like he was going to get it then Petracca snatched it and ran off towards goal leaving Walsh in his wake. That was just bad luck for Walsh. He was under the ball and Petracca came in from nowhere. I never saw Walsh directly on Petracca other than that time.

When Petracca went forward, Murphy took Brayshaw, Ed took Viney and Oliver held Cripps.

Setters went in the middle when Murph was on a wing, as did Cuningham and Martin when Cripps went forward.

There was times when Petracca came back into the midfield to match up with Ed and Murphy one more time by accident I guess.
Petracca was spent and had none of that burst energy he showed in the first.

Commentators said Ed had closed down Viney snce quarter time, but that's not the case because Ed took other opponents Dees were rotating through the mid: Hunt, and small stints from Brown, Langdon and Melksham. Ed played mid all game. Cripps went forward in the last. Murphy mainly wing after quarter time.

There were a lot of beautiful moments...Levi goal, a great sequence of play, Cuningham's dead straight kick running into goal, Weitering's dominance, Eddies first goal back, Pitto

The debate centres around why we got smashed in the midfield in the first quarter, and whether it was positional, personnel, mental or both.

Were Carlton the fourth oldest team in round 2?

we only played one player drafted in past 3 years (Walsh). So wouldn't surprise me

To be fair. Simmo adds the best part of 1 year to our average age over a younger player.

Only Hawthorn, Geelong and West Coast older than us. Walsh our only recent drafted player. Five players 30+. Not good signs at all.

In danger of getting into Agro's lane here, but at least we know he adds something to us.

Finally watched the replay last night - I turned it off in disgust after McGov missed everything from 20 meters out (How much is being paid again?)

This time I skipped the first half.

I saw some positives, but still ... I really hated the start and after the covid wait, it wasnt what I was hoping to see

You tried hard but it didn't gel with me. Nothing personal but still grieving the demise of The Carlton Show...

Geelong are just as ordinary.

We beat Richmond for three quarters. They're ordinary ATM as well.
Talk about wasted opportunities. We could easily be in the top 8 but that first quarter against Richmond cost us %.
