Not as bad?

Those stats are virtually identical except tackles.

We lifted. Surely that's a good thng?

It is good ... except the standard of football was very poor.

But yea ... it made my weekend ... just trying to be realistic.

Not expecting much against the Bombers ... but you never know what a win will do for the youngsters.

We were behind on tackles because we were first to the ball.

Blue dog is correct.

How do you know Blue Dog's correct?

We are around the same age mosche. I have never seen it referred to as Send Up (an American saying) till I saw it in a thread on TC. All the print I've seen from 60's 70's and 80's and prior always stated "Send us". It makes sense to me when it was explained. I take your point regading rhyme and rhythm, but that looks to me a kid who has decided it doesn't fit so they changed it so it makes sense to them. Rebel!

In fact the oldest references to the song in print, should sort this old chest nut. I'm a traditionalist for all things Carlton, and if there is evidence that Send Up was used and printed before Send Us then I'm a convert. Till that time I'll stick to tradition.

I heard of the explanation of the reference to "They" being the Heavens and the greater powers of God, from Bert Deacon's mate a Mr Reid back in 1969-70 as I was always curious about the reference to "They", and who they were. I met Bert that day and Bert gave me a members medallion.

Would love to know the truth.

Bondi, Bondi, Bondi. I don't think we're the same age. Unless you're really referring to some other "mosche".

How old are you?

With all the champions ''they'' (they being the VFA/VFL ) like to send US (as opponents) we'll keep our end up.

Pretty simple really.

Agree with Bondi because he's right.

Ignoring the result. The little positives for the future that we need to see each game were highlighted by Byrne's game. He could seriously be elite if he stays fit. This could be good from two fronts.. The obvious one, and that it may allow Docherty to be released to the midfield, where I think he will shine even more.

Charlie again is showing glimpses.

Kerridge and Wright have come from clubs more advanced than us and it shows in their work ethic. They are solid gets

Yes I was set the gili islands / uluwatu.having a dive and eating drinking enjoying the sun.
You should welcome me back and congratulate me for pointing towards the result way before the game

But let me add.. I never would believe that there can be two such poor teams participating in a game in Australia's elite competition...

Horrible! Horrible!
Terrible

What did you think turtle?

I met you in Chinatown restaurant in Sydney a couple of years ago with Agro, The Doc...
We were on the same round table. I was out all night prior to getting there...Peter Pan Syndrome.

You're a grandfather. I'm old enough to be grandfather. I'm a few years younger.
You look older. I look younger.
I drink more. I'm preserved.

My first Carlton game was the 1968 GF.

Well said Turtle man.

Byrno reminded me of Motley again. That courage and that dash....and contested marks. He's a keeper.
Charlie is already making an impact.
Fitness level of Curnow, Kerridge, Wright are the bench mark...to enable us to fight till the final siren.
