It's been hard turning up each week.

Today, every time I tried to sing the song I got too emotional.
Beautiful day.

Great to see Sam Rowe back himself to win one on one's. He's so much more effective than when playing the body. I could see him becoming something like the way Lake plays.

Didn't have a chance to look at the score til 3/4 time and of course was surprised. Decided to put the headphones on and go for a run and listen on the woeful AFL app, got through the first 15 minutes and thought this is exactly what I have listened to every week so far and couldn't listen to them cut us up. Switched over to some music and then got home to see the honorable loss and couldn't believe it was an honorable win. Will have to download the game. Now enjoying a great Sunday listening to SEN getting basic facts wrong and not caring for once. Woohoo!

Surely Cripps will win the Rising Star award this year.

The last couple of games I have actually got out of my seat to "offer advice" to the TV - it's great to care again! Thanks blue boys for having a go - and a win as icing.

I do that, but I'm starting to think that my TV is not taking any notice of me. I'll keep at it for another 10 years and see what happens.

How much better do we look without the Madhouse in charge. The danger is in thinking that Barker is the answer. He is doing ok but lets face it, when you have been taken to the bottom and forced to play a football style that just does not work in the modern game, anyone was going to be an improvement.

Well done today Blues!

There is equal danger in thinking he is not the answer.

Just finished the replay. Mighty effort. Blues actually playing a style of footy that is worth going to see again.

If I said it once I said it 10 times during the game. Crippppppaaaaaa!!!!!! Wow he is stunning to watch in the contest. Ripping the ball away from Wines and Boak is no mean feat and yet he did it time and again. For a bloke who everyone says is not AFL fit, he sure keeps on keeping on.

Love Belly's last quarter. Love Nick's tireless efforts. Loved Murphs resolve.

Disliked Everitt's last. 3 Broken tackles at crucial times and some other poor efforts just annoyed the hell out of me. Not good enough for mine in the 4th when everyone else was giving their all.

We had some luck at the end but we made our own luck earlier on by taking the game on, working hard for each other and just having a dip at every contest.

Kudos to Barker and Co.

Go Blues.

Regards Cazzesman

Disappointing to see the media trying crucify Gibbs. It was unfortunate that the bloke's head hit the turf but it was a good tough fair tackle with accidental collateral damage. If the guy had got up and kept playing no-one would be saying boo about it.

Just hope the mrp use real time vision and see that it's one motion.

It looks worse in slo mo so I presume they'll go with that.

It's like the Yarran statement in a way. Very different in the context but what it said is that we are going to tackle bloody hard and players will get hurt. I said it elsewhere but it is the Hawthorn mentality and that is something Barker learned there under the sniper. Play the edge of legality. I note the other Hawthorn tactic, legal but probably not in the spirit of the game (if there is any such thing), of putting someone almost next to the man on the mark and then using him as a block so the ball carrier can make a run for it.
If Gibbs gets time for that I'll be surprised but I won't mind because you have to pay the price for everything. If we get one suspended here or there in the process of becoming a tough team, I can live with it, just like I was happy to live with Yarran's. The current and old Hawks and the Blues of old often have someone out suspended. Think Brereton, Hodge, Williams, Think DRJ or Diesel JB or Johnson... We were feared back then and if we play footy every week like we did yesterday we will be feared again.
A few weeks ago I was worried that there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I couldn't even see the tunnel but I see a faint pinprick down there now.
Barker may be the next coach. He may not but at least we will find out who can play over the next few months.

Bit harsh Cazz, he was outstanding in the first half and certainly didn't stop trying in the second. We've flogged him in the midfield and now he's running around off HF like a lunatic. That smother then chase down to secure a goal was brilliant.

He's no Jarrad Waite.

Thanks for the footage Wookie. Can't remember the last time I was as happy (relatively) with a loss as I was against Adelaide, just great to see the players having a RHG, now this week same attitude and we get over the line.

I didn't make it to the game, turned the radio off at three quarter time, couldn't bare to listen any longer. To turn on again just after the siren to hear we'd won, ah jeeze what a grand feeling to have once again. Ran into the house to tell the wife we'd won, couldn't keep the grin off my face for hours.

Barks for coach? Dunno, we're in the honeymoon period at the moment, still need to go through due process regardless of what happens over the next couple of months. We need to remember Port haven't exactly set the world on fire (finals excepted) since mid 2014.

Hard tackling is what we want, not lazy, undisciplined cheap left hooks.
