If we got a top 10 pick for Lachie you take it. Happy for him to stay though.

Need to keep Hendo as a key defender. That's what he does well.

Agree Rexy.
Hendo should be put in the backline where he belongs, along with Jamo, Jaksch, Docherty, one of the Irish boys and Yarran. The plan would be for Giles (hopefully) to replace Jamo in a few years. We need to draft or trade in one more young, tall defender in the next year or two for depth and as an eventual replacement for Hendo (5 years-ish).

The more I think about it, the more I think we keep Yarran - do not trade. He's still only 24, and basically our only line-breaking runner.

Hendo Jaksch Jamo in defence.

Draft a key forward with a top 20 pick.... in the meantime play Jones Walker and Watto as key forwards.

..we'd never kick a winning score, we'd be lucky to kick ten.... ..hendo looked like a better defender, because when down there he had genuine quality around him.. ..played with simmo, Gibbs and yarran around him, and jamo is a capable tall to combine with.. ...now if put experienced talent around him up fwd he would do much better, playing a lone hand up fwd as it stands now..

Just play Hendo down back. It's his best position, and even though we are rebuilding, it makes sense to play players in their best positions and then try others in the remaining spots to identify where the holes are.

If we can't kick a score this year = so what? But hendo and Jaksch forming a partnership as key backs = valuable.

We'd most likely stuff the pick up anyway.

I agree. He has played his best footy down back. I would have Casboult, Jones and Jacksh as our forwards at this stage until they realise Jones isn't up to it and then hopefully we find a proper CHF/FF in the draft.

What have we got to lose?

That's beside the point. If Carlton doesn't get better at drafting, Carlton remains a sick club, it's as simple as that.

I have a friend that knows Eddie Betts & his wife quite well. She tells me the blues only offered Eddie a two year deal worth 200k a year after being on 350k. Said that mick didn't like him and loves it over there, coaches and players ask his opinion on things but at the blues they weren't interested in anything he had to say.
