would have done really well if we had snared miles from GWS as a rookie like Richmond did and Clayman advocated

I was talking about trades. As for drafting it's way to early to call.

Cripps I believe will be very good but I have an issue with a risky call at 13. IMO Dunstan or Hartung would of been better. They have proven they have the endurance and work rate to succeed.

Holman too far away to make an assessment. Limited in several areas but a goer. 50/50 at this stage.

Not really much else is there? I have been saying it for years, you need to trade up to better picks and to do that you need to be aggressive with trading players whilst they still have value. We don't seem to get that.

Having traded Hampson last year and having Betts go we should of been smarter with our use of picks. Could we have traded a Garlett or Walker for another pick inside top 30? Lucas for a 3rd round whilst he may of had some value.

Imagine with some smart simple trading and recruitment we could of easily had Dunstan, Taylor, Docherty & Hartung added to our list plus Holman and the irish rookies. Then our list would start to have some real hope about it. look at Brisbane with the picks they got last year. Some real talent and hope.

Personally, this year I would be shopping around Walker, Robinson, Garlett, Lucas, Kruezer, Warnock for any picks we could add whilst they may have SOME value. I'd also let Waite go. Any of those players can be replaced through the draft or with mature rookies.

Brisbane seems to have done well with their strategy last year, your idea is spot on and we need to do it this year.

In part Brisbane were pushed into by some players wanting to leave but IMO have come out of it in a better position.

For once I would just like us to be aggressive and turn over our list and bring in some real young talent ala Brisbane and Bulldogs. My fear is we don't have the key people that have the ability to pull it off.
