Wood is a better alternative to Warnock my bet is they will both play against Freo
Still need another ruck on the list

North are the hardest team to figure out they were shit tonight
They lack a star Harvey is their best player

Waite is the Noth Melbourne of Carlton in a singular sense

Aliens have landed and taken over Keogh's body. Someone call Scully and Mulder.

A positive post Keogh. That must have hurt to type.

Gee, what an astonishing thing to hear from Monga. :hitcomputer: He's about as independent as Kevin Sheedy or Joffa. His hard-hitting media career is all about having a go at Carlton. And basically no one else.

Frank perhaps we can revisit the Gibbs thread and pull out a few pearls of wisdom from some of the Footy Public that visit here from time to time.

The sound of eggs being scraped from faces would be huge.

Gibbs has been great over the last ten weeks. I am not sure that trawling through old posts and pretending they were written now proves much. Gibbs is currently playing the footy we have been hoping to see for a long time. He has always been good but now he is showing the consistency and willingness to win 50/50s that we have always wanted. He probably suffers from being in the same draft as Selwood who has been at that level for years. If Gibbs keeps up this form, he could win a brownlow and several b and f's which wd do justice to his talent. None of that means that supporters were wrong for being frustrated over the last seven years, but Gibbs long deal may look very prescient in 5 years.

You wouldn't read about it.

My 40th birthday, go out for dinner with the wife instead of going to the game and they get up. The kid goat was delicious though.

Oh well, at least caught the last 10 minutes when we got home. Very impressive last quarter given lack of rotations.

He said at the start of this year we'd finish bottom four, sespite the hoopla.
Well had we not won last weekend we'd have been 14th still.
Hate him all you like but he was spot on when all round him were marking us up.

Just like he said West Coast 'WILL make top 4' this year.

This! I'm not sure Brock and Carrots will play in the 1's next year. I hope they get a tap on the shoulder and are told time's up.

I think our backline has more poise without Walker in it and with the discovery this year of Rowe and Buckley I'd like to see Walker given a go in the forward line again next season. Because he can play tall, he could be a Gunston-style "3rd tall" alongside Hendo and Levi, with Menzel around the crumbs. I'm tipping Waite will be gone next year.

I agree that while Walker has been poor down back this year I still believe that he can be a 30+ goal forward for us

Bung knee accounts for that doesn't it?

He wasn't his best this year, I agree, but he has shown in the past that's he's a very a good rebounding defender with much better disposal than we've seen this season.

True, but (assuming no injuries), I don't see a spot for him down there anymore. The back 6 moving forward is looking like: Jamison, Rowe, White, Buckley, Simpson and Yarran. Jamison, Rowe and White are there to stop big forwards from taking marks while Buckley, Simpson and Yarran are capable of stopping smaller forwards and also making play by running *through* the lines. We've also got a few with massive kicks, capable of kicking *over* the lines in Tuohey and Watson (though I think Watson's shown he's not good for much else, whereas Tuohey can be great at times and poor at others).

On Marngrook last week "Hungry" Bartlett said North by 100points.

Walker up forward with Casbolt and Henderson as the main targets. Menzel and Garlett lurking around leaves Walker to be the 3rd tall up. Who's missing from that scenario? I'm a little worried about Waite to be honest. I know folks are saying times up, but if ever there was a player who has the x-factor up forward its him. He really can be the difference between winning and losing. I'd just hate to see first Betts leaves and then we get rid of Waite? That's a lot of goals to account for.

From what I can make of it Malthouse likes a team of interchangeable players that he can mix and match due to match-ups and or form / injury. A player like Waite is that kind of player. Even against North his work up the ground was good. Walker, Henderson, Waite, Yarran, and White, all interchangeable players who can go forward or back. I'm not too sure about Waite. Personally I don't think we've seen the best he has to offer. Could next year be that year? I hope so.
