It's okay Rexy, Simon Beaumont made the cut, I'm sure that makes up for it.

Aside from kicking 8 goals in a half against the Pies, what did Beaumont do?

Highlighted the club's lack of brick science.

The Buzz is one of my favourite players of all time. Spectacular ... flamboyant ... confident.
He had an amazing vertical leap.

It cracks me up the way Loyd is always trying to weaken Carlton (not that we could get much weaker at the moment). Now he telling Carlton not to keep Gibbs.

Id love to see Gibbsy leave us...

Why would you have to play at Carlton unless youre forced.

(money) give him a heap overs like everybody else.. to compensate for playing here... or let him move on...

Reading todays HUN article on Gibbs, it mentions that the club may not present him and his management with our drafting and list management strategies (we probably dont have any). The club will put on offer to him which he can take or leave.
Reading between the lines, the club is not going to bend over backwards to keep him.
I have said it before, FA will change footy forever. Its not something that i like, even though we got Daisy it cost us Eddie.
Going to get interesting.

The funny thing is that people will see Gibbs as a villain if he goes even though it will be due to the club's lack of direction and poor list management.

Gibbs will star at a team that has a balanced list, something that Carlton hasn't had in a decade or more.

Gibbs will look after Gibbs, just like so many Carlton people before him.

Not used if he leaves, as long as we get decent compo.

Whether you think we are better with or without Gibbs is a moot point. What is hilarious, is that Loyd can't help himself.

If Gibbs wants huge bucks to stay let him go. Gotta laugh about him wanting to see a blueprint for the future, Sticks is probably searching down the back of the sofa as we speak.

Don't know about Patton though, a lot of eggs in one basket is the Carlton way, but risky. A KPF is what we need but, the kid is twenty, has dodgy knees (full reco?) and has played a handful of games. Get some low draft picks. A fragile potential champion, who might also break down big time playing in the physically toughest position on the ground is a concern to me.

I'd prefer Boyd.

At the very least it means we don't have to be overly precious with what we could receive for Kreuzer. Be a nice reduction in TPP if both were to occur.

I agree. I highly doubt he'll leave Melbourne. Journos already have the easy "go home factor' as their narrative, so they won' get off their backsides and actually investigate the options. their work is done. Just like buddy heading to GWS.... right?

I don't think our list is bad.

We need everyone on the park playing their best team game.

We need depth on all lines but one bonafide KPF like Boyd patten Day etc etc would straighten us up

We need to make decisions about Gibbs and Kruezer....not far off.

Plenty of reason for Gibbs to stay and stop the circus.

How do we get a contracted passionate Carlton person in Boyd?
I'd do anything for that to happen.

Maybe the club can ask Gibbs for a vision for how he will live up to his #1 title...or even make top 3 in the B&F...or even make the AA squad of 40

If the market is prepared to pay him $700k, see ya later, I won't shed a tear.

500k is more than adequate at Carlton
