Murph got scragged by Wallis all day. Missed out on plenty of his fair share of free kicks. Still well blanketed.

Rowe was awful.

Armfield's first half was OK. Watson definitely our best pre-season player. Warnock looks to have improved his output around the grounds but his tapouts to advantage were atrocious. Think Bucks might have played himself out of a round one spot sadly. Like what I saw from Cripps, agree, think he'll play. Menzel is going to be a freak.

Don't think we can go in against the fittest side in the competition with four players under injury clouds and Kreuzer who also looked seriously underdone.

That's how I saw it Rhino...albeit from the comfort of a beanbag. Mind you - the service was average. At one stage I had to actually get up and WALK to get some hot chips.

No hot chip long bombs to the bean bag doc? Disappointing.

Can't say I had that experience, fortunately.

No doubt about it. But whoever Rowe plays on will lead the goalkicking at the conclusion of Round 1.

I still don't understand what Hughes and Ratten saw in Rowe. Out of every single draftee I can remember, he was the one who I watched his highlights and I thought what on earth? Even his pre draft highlights weren't enough to make him look any good. Wade Twomey's highlights looked better!

Sadly I tend to agree. He wasn't exactly smashing it in the SANFL. We could have picked him up as a rookie rather than in the thirties or whatever it was. Paid way too much - again.

You are obviously presuming that they were well considered, high quality picks. I suspect that many on this forum share my doubts. Kane Lukas ???? Don't blame the coach for crap recruiting. Blame him for keeping the same crap recruiters if the selections during his tenure are as bad as the previous coach endured. The jury is still out on a few of those. Blame him for not grabbing the best recruiter in the business (Matthew Rendell - in my opinion) before Collingwood snapped him up. Blame him for not grabbing the best available assistant coach (Nathan Bassett - in my opinion) at the end of last season, before Essendon* snapped him up. But don't blame him for the poor decisions made by others before he arrived.

Don't talk about this too loudly, people will accuse you of using 20/20 hindsight, or as I like to call it 20/20 Jordan Murdoch.

What nonsense ... Dr Strangelove has implemented the Bomb tactic. Modern ... inventive ... special. If we keep bombing the ball, 2 things can happen. Firstly, the opposition will become overconfident ... and secondly, sooner or later we will get the ball. Brilliant coaching. The genius in all this is how slowly we bring the ball up around the wings ... allows the opposition to get back and block the space ... this also has the effect of ensuring that the other side becomes overconfident. A perfect enhancement to the Bomb tactic. I like it ... revolutionary.

Thanks for the correction - if he was in the top 50 it was too high. Couldn't tackle himself out of a wet paper bag.

Cheers

I think you'll find that the comments we made after we picked him was that we "rated him as a top ten" and "he fell to us.

You would be crying if we had traded pick 12 to see Lucas end up at Adelaide with pick 13. Pointless to find pleasure in complaining about everything. Just like your fascination with Carlton missing out on Jordan "I can't believe Geelong rated this superstar lower than two KPP" Murdoch. Murdoch mustn't be that good if Hughes rated him.

Am I right?
