Glad is wasn't a shootout.

We still are not tough enough when it counts. They wore our punches then smashed us when we were done banging our head against a brickwall. Old tactic performed well.

Going to be a tough few months.

Bryce was good in the middle

Most clearances of any player on the ground.

Wasn't the whole point of a new coach to give them some spine? Now we just choke. Lot of money just to miss finals again

If you can't see improvement in game plan, structure and intensity which has led to 5 narrow losses you are blind. Just quietly the coach doesn't have a young Judd and fev at his disposal

They still can't stamp themselves on the competition

What do you mean improvement in game plan? You mean reverting to a Ratten game style?

Big $$$ were spent to get us results.

It's a defensive gameplan which is why we are conceding less per game. Ratten had no concept of defense

In 2011 when Ratten wasn't decimated by injuries the team on average conceded 79 points per game. Under Malthouse so far Carlton are conceding 85 points per game. Obviously a smaller sample and other factors at play, but it is garbage to suggest Ratten had no concept of defence.

I am no fan of Ratten but assess WHY the club spent all the money to get MM...it was to get results.

If the club needed a rebuild why would they spend mega bucks getting MM?

Because the rebuild was inevitable. Better to have a competent coach oversee it, a coach with proven ability to build lists

Why? He is teaching how to play as a team reliant on a team, not individuals.

IMO our core stars have been average this year, it's our evenness that has stood out, not always for the better short term, but longer term we will be better for it.

Now we choke?

We already choked under Ratts.

You never know we might beat the Hawks next week.

2011 was a lon time ago.
Judd was in the top 5 players in the league.
We we nt out and drafted traded for and lured a bunch of half back flankers...

Ratten knocked us back 3 years....... he had a huge lack of understanding .

We need a mini rebuild....!!!

There is no @#$%&! way we wont cut deep....!!!...

I find it odd that for the 1st time in a bloody long time :banghead: we finally have a tall forward stand up and deliver......and our unpredictable smalls go missing

MM's got something to work with. We arnt premiership material yet but he's got a very good base.
Unfortunately, I dont think Judd will ever see a premiership with us but he's been immense for us time and time again.

We're still learning Micks way. We havnt been smashed yet ( hopefully the Dawks wont do it to us next week ) and we've been in every game this year with a chance to win all of them. Those who are asking for Ratts back should remember this!!

Frustrating as hell as I hate this mob more than any other by the length of the flemington straight but we are improving .........very slowly but surely just the same.

they cause the other players to go into a panic...!!!... cos you cannot rely on them to hold up their end...

have i mentioned that????

there are some of them in the side.. and we have a bunch of guys in the ressies we cant even use ... cos theyre not capa ble of playing the modern game.....

i reckon flicking ten is a minimum... not sure how many can be flicked in a single year and find replacements.. but what we see is ridiculous

I've identified 2. Lucas and Robbo gone.

I recall being told on TC after the 2008 draft that Mitch was rated inside the top 10 by our recruitment staff.

It hurts.

It was dumb.

It wasn't unexpected.

He is top 10 when it comes to courage and putting his head over the ball.

Problem is he's not top 1000 when it comes to analyzing a situation on a footy field.

People don't see that.

Share these immense contests? Ie the ones when the heat was really on?

I have banged on about Kreuzer for a while now and again was disappointing in a big game. Simply does not do enough, especially when it really counts. Clearly the most overrated player on this site.
